How are queue times for alliance raids?
Looking forward to glamour farming after ARR, but heard HW, SB, and other mid-game expansions have long queue times for alliance raids.
Is this basically true?

If the duty finder takes too long, whats a more efficient way to farm for the glamours?

thanks

Well before the recent changes to stop ilvl abusers I would often spend hours in queue for SB raids like Orbonne Monastery but now you'll wait maybe 10 minutes to fill up. You could always form a PF group unsync'd too if you're glam hunting. :lunar2019piginablanket:

You now are forced to automatically queue for all Alliance raids that you have unlocked and are in the respective level range for the class you queued for.

So if you are a level 80 Dancer and you have unlocked all available 24-man raids, you are just equally likely to get Crystal Tower raids, Mhach raids, Ivalice raiids and Nier raids. You can no longer take off all of your gear to say force the queue to give you a Crystal Tower raid - it won't let you queue until you are at your appropriate iLv again.

Just to be precise;
Queuing for alliance raid used to require an item level around iirc the lowest requirement of the lowest alliance raids you had available to you. Essentially it was low enough that you could go under the requirement for the raids in the expansion, and 'force' the roulette to give you Crystal Tower raids.
Because of how much they've been powercrept and their overall now low difficulty there's been a lot of people that willingly took off their gear to lower their item level to be below shadow of mhach's requirements.

Now, the requirement is equal to the highest alliance you have unlocked and that's available at your current level, meaning you can't intentionally lower your item level.
You technically still have the choice to just not unlock raids but evidently it's been a good change as other raids have been appearing plenty since it happend.

thanks for the info thats helpful

would you say then that duty finder is the best way to farm for glamours then?

The quickest way is running them unsynced, if you can get enough people through Party Finder.

Failing that Duty Finder isn't too bad. Just don't run it as a Tank, as those queues generally take a lot longer.

credit cards is the best way since the good stuff is on the website and costs money.the ingame stuff is just bland.

Kinda yeah but mostly because there's no very viable alternatives.
Unsynced can be an option if you can get enough people on board but don't forget that these are raids build for 24 people, so with just 3 level 100 people even the lower level raids can still be kinda tedious.

Of course if you queue I would defenitely recommend queuing as whatever job you want the glamour for.
