FINAL FANTASY XIV Online

I was told this game is free to play now and not monthly subscription?
Is this true? On steam it says there is a "30 day free trial" and a google search is telling me its free to play until level 70. Is there like a premium subscription that like ESO that has a 30 free trial and then base game is free with a 70 level cap (higher after purchasing expansions i'd assume?) or just a free month of the regular monthly sub

30-day free play period = 30 day free trial?

You get 30 days of subscription time for free, then you have to pay a sub to continue off of that.

What is it with these new generations and expecting everyone to give you a "here's what you need to know about x" instead of just doing your own damn research.

I asked here because after doing my own research I was getting multiple different and conflicting answers, some of which you can see in this discussion. Not only that but the official website and the official steam store page conflict with each other which added to the confusion. I appreciate the information you provided but the attitude is unwarranted.

What's conflicting between what's on the official site and what's on the Steam store page (the orange disclaimer box right above the free trial button)?

Notice: This is a Free Trial that allows you to play free up to level 70 with no restrictions on play time. If you wish to continue beyond level 70, please purchase the full version of the game on Steam. Several game features are restricted for the Free Trial.
The NA version of FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Free Trial will only work on American Square Enix accounts.

The only difference is the Steam page doesn't break down the individual features you are restricted from. Sounds like the conflicting answers you were getting were from the very same type of randos you came here seeking answers from.

Notice: Includes 30-day free subscription period for all newly created service accounts*. User registration and service subscription are required to play the game.
*The 30-day free play period included with purchase can only be applied once to each platform on a single service account. Moreover, this 30-day free play period is not applicable to platforms on which a license has already been registered.
The NA version of FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Starter Edition will only work on American Square Enix accounts.

This is what the steam store page says for me. I'm not sure why we're both seeing different orange disclaimer box messages. What I see does conflict with that you see and what the website says

Its cause you are looking at the base game purchase and not the free trial,if you click on learn more about in the green box for the free trial it pops up with the free trial details

What is often forgotten is that having information isn't comprehending the information. As a teacher you learn it's almost impossible to present information in a way everyone will be able to digest it.

Eventually I just learned to expect someone was going to miss a point staring them right in their face.

I don't get it
Nomeat710 Aug 9, 2024 @ 4:33pm
Free trial is pointless cant create a character since all worlds have a restriction on new ones....leaves a bad taste and makes me think it happens when you pay for it too
