Gil transfers

So question on gil transfers. I have a main account non steam that I play and just recently a steam account for my son. I want to send him gil to start out with. The only way to do this is to send him a friend request in game since game is crossplay and I can send him gil or trade items?

I understand there is the regular middleman amd market board options but I don't feel comfortable doing this I just want to make sure I can trade gil through the friend option different accounts in the same household?

If you're on the same server, you should be able to use the in-game mooglemail to send some Gil and items, or just trade eachother if you're both logged on.

But as I understand it you have to be friends to trade gil? But yes same server. I thought I read you can't use the mail to send gil unless your friends. I am just basically verifying this.

No you don't need to be friend to trade anything. Being friend let you use mog mail like other person said.

There is a limit on how much gil you can trade in one trade, but that's for everyone, friends or not.

As long as you have different/multiple service accounts and subscriptions you can trade without issues.

Fastest would be if you are in the same FC and have rights to access FC chest - you can put/take large amounts of gil in one go
Otherwise - you can send up to a mil gil per trade, just trade multiple times

Meet in game and just trade gil. I think it's 1 million limit for each trade. If you own a house and want to make things easier, just get a mannequin and sell a level 1 gear for 30-40 million or whatever you want, that way you don't have to do gil transfer 30 times.

edit: also the fc method listed by Vasya is a great way as well
