DX11 error and AMD driver crash with 5700 XT
SECOND UPDATE After 400h+ ==============================================

The game does still crash with DirectX errors but quite rarely. I just seems to be the way the game is, happens for a lot of people with different specs, and I haven't found a solution in all of the internet.

The -20% Power Limit does seem to alleviate it I'm used to playing with it, but it might also be placebo.

UPDATE at 60 hours ===================================================

Ever since I upgraded to the beginner edition from Free Trial, I haven't crashed once in 50-60 hours.

I am still using the -20% Power limit and 1900Mhz Clock but still, no crashes so far.

======================================================================

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I suspect it has something to do with 2 monitors and having a video or stream play on the other monitor. I feel like most of the crashes have happened right or, close to me pausing / playing a video or clicking on the other monitor.

So I started my free trial maybe 3 weeks ago, another WoW refugee here, and since then the game has crashed my drivers at least 5-6 times forcing me to reboot the system to fix it.

This is currently the only game crashing on me.

WoW, GTAV with graphics mods, PoE and Insurgency:Sandstorm = no issues

I know AMD trash drivers are what they are, ESPECIALLY with the infamous 5700 XT, but I've been going through so many threads on every forum I can find and a lot of people are having the DX11 error crash even with Nvidia GPUs.

So I'm just asking if any other 5700 XT owners are having this issue.

I got the latest drivers, I've tried several in the past few days, done DDU many times and everything's "in order" but still crashing.

Even with aggressive fan curve it crashes, and with this gd damned heat I need an aggressive curve to begin with.

Playing at 144FPS with Freesync

Currently I'm trying out a -15% power limit, we'll see if it works.

Rig:

Sapphire pulse 5700 XT
R5 3600 @ 4Ghz
16Gb 3200Mhz CL 16
MSI B350 Tomahawk
1000W Corsair PSU

Try to downclock your GPU core by ~300MHz

I underclocked by -100Mhz .100V -15% PL and it didn't crash in 4 hours.

Let's see if it works.

Please let me know if underclocking fixed your issue. (I'm having the same issue with 5700 xt)

I've crashed 2 or 3 times since but I feel like the -20% power limit has made the issue not as frequent.

I also downgraded to older 8/2020 drivers but don't think that has any effect.

I also crash often with a 5700xt. I am not sure how limiting the power limit would stop crashing. From my understanding some of the cards were overclocked a bit too much from the 3rd party suppliers which is why underclocking the cards slows down or eliminates most crashing.

AMD Radeon™ Software may crash or become unresponsive while playing some DirectX® 11 games such as PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds™ with multiple displays connected in extended mode.

i think this issue is persistent
