Yeah, everyone are very friendly on Lich

Try any data center in Light, currently I am in Zodiark. Lich is also good and I speak in an unbiased way because I have tried all of them.

I'd recommend playing the Trial 1st and try out other places to see which is more your server.

Just be on the chaos data center and choose any of the servers, most players in EU use English rather than their own language as it's universal.

I'm in Moogle and most of the players in limsa do flash mobs I.E. everyone going naked/fat chocobo mounts.

Phoenix is a primarily English speaking, also on the Light EU data center alongside Lich. Off the top of my head, the only real non-English servers (by the loosely defined community efforts to meet up together) is Shiva for German, Moogle for French.

Though, it's really worth stressing it's not going to mean too much in the end, because you're matched up for groups with people from across the same data center. If you get on Phoenix, you'll run dungeons and other content with people from Lich, Shiva, and so on. You can also freely visit other worlds in the same data center, using the Aetheryte/big crystal at the main area of the three starting cities.

I chose Zodiark for the steam version because Odin and Phoenix weren't allowing any new characters when i tried to make them.

i see so you get matched up with people in the same data centre when you play dungeons and stuff and i am guessing the free company guilds are bound to servers?

Yeah, sadly the case that the Free Company guilds are locked to server residents. If you make friends on other worlds and want to form a group of sorts though, you can create a Cross-world Linkshell (basically an invite-based chat room) to organise things within the game.
I came from wow too and I play louisoix, mostly see English and never seen any toxicity. Its nice for new players.
Perfect . I rolled up a toon on lich server . Liking the game so far .

Pick any server that has new player XP boost in it, that way you'll be able to catch up in Jobs, in case you want to try all the jobs game has to offer, as well as you'll be able to join a novice network full of new and veteran players to chat with and ask questions etc., you'll also get a good amount of gil for a starting player (once you hit certain level). Also, all the servers except Shiva(German) and Moogle(French) are pretty much english speaking. AND brace yourself to get thru ARR(It can be a little bit of a drag),BUT once you get to Heavensward you'll get addicted and fall in love with the game, world, lore and characters. You've been warned!
I think Odin on Light Data Center has a good amount of english speaking players.
