Not sure what's so hard to grasp from this. Add onto the fact that with over half the Aether following you along the MSQ making it even simpler.
Yeah did I say you would be granted flight straight away. I only said to replace FATE farming to get mount speed with "Gather Aether Currents, Gain Mount Speed". They can leave all that MSQ gate flight as it is. But give players some reward for exploring and finding them. Heck to me they could remove the Compass, but at least reward those that chose to find 99% of them before that final MSQ quest in the Zone.
Why people struggle to read ? Where did I say give players flight ? I said get rid of riding maps...
Riding maps are far more complex with only Shadowbringers and Endwalker having "Shared Fates". The majority are from Seals, each Seal different, and not even worth mentioning once you get flying for the area and just kept in for achievement hunters.
Nowhere I mentioned flight... I guess reading with understanding was never your strongests attribute. Good luck in life
Brother they're saying ground speed doesn't matter once you get flight. This isn't a case of "they can't read", it's a case of you lacking reading comprehension.
Bruh, I only said Time add up quickly when you have to gather them all. Then multiply that by 6 zones and you have a decent portion of your day taken. No where in my argument I mentioned flight. It was your imagination. My argument to you was purely "IT DOESN'T TAKE 15 MIN" you added the rest. Just because you are being quoted doesn't mean all of my message is towards you. The rest of the post was me giving an example how to make them more useful/rewarding
Riding Maps are just pure time sink to force players into making FATEs, they are useless after you get flight, hence just make Aether Currents responsible for Mount Speed. You gather enough on 1 half of the map, you get a star or X% movement increase.
Ye ye, I used recent changes for my argument. Obviously, if they would rework it, imo they should do it backwards as well. After having flight, those speed boosts don't matter. However during MSQ, when they often ask you to walk across the map back and forth. It would be nice to be a little bit faster and not being forced to do FATEs.
I never said it was perfect, it's just the only viable way they can do it that won't cause a huge whinge fest. They want you to see the different areas of the worlds, even if you might only go there once (which you won't, it'll be more than that).
If you don't, you don't, but that's how the game is designed and it probably won't change any time soon, unless they can figure out a better way of getting the player to look rather than zoom by on their mounts, which is has been a problem in almost every MMO with mount systems. WoW, FFXIV, TESO, etc etc.
And saying it is devoid of content is just blatant dishonesty.
Ohhh nooo, those are like that for a reason.
1. A lot of areas are blocked off by ravines and other natural barriers to keep you on rails and away from spoilers. Being able to fly over those barriers would ruin the setpieces they have for you.
2. You *do* come back to most regions for side content. Manderville, gatherer jobs, Blu mage spells, beast tribes (or whatever we're calling them now), classes from expansions, etc. Being able to fly throughout those is extremely handy. Sometimes the MSQ even takes you back there anyway in a later expansion (or the in-between of expansions)
