Your comment was basically "it's the start, it's set up. it's not gonna be as good as the finale"
Endwalker story wasn't even all that good honestly. But people think it's somehow better than Shadowbringers because it was the finale or whatever. DT is just worse in every regard. Before DT, people said ARR or SB was the worst story but now it's pretty unanimously agreed it's DT.
DT story isn't bad because it's "a fresh start" it's bad because it sucks. They pushed a side character to be the de facto main character and having the de facto main character be annoying is not enjoyable when you go from the MC to a babysitter.
The idea that Endwalker was bad is still silly as hell to me, but you do you. "Unanimously" is a pretty strong word.
Other people have pointed out, the WoL being a hypercompetent side character is not exactly a new thing. Plus, after having reached the climax of a very personal story, I don't see any problem with a "babysitting" sort of story personally.
All this said, we're already setting up some interesting possibilities in Dawntrail, and the future story ideas the devs have brought up almost all sound really cool, so hate it if you want, I'll be enjoying it and looking forward to what's to come.
I think the devs probably expected more of the audience to like Wuk Lamat partly because of how excited the audience was to have playable female Hrothgar.
i feel like stormblood had the issue to mix two completely different stories, at the time i wanted to see more hien i had to stick with lise, i believe there were more people in my shoes, some would love lise and didnt want hien at that specific time and they would be put off
the pacing of the story is what dictates if the expansion will be good or not, if the pacing is engaging, you fill like you are working towards something bigger, its going to be a banger, the moment you fill you are like just wasting time, its going to suck, you energy is already getting sucked by something you dont see the logic in doing so
if i would make a tier list for expansions mine would be
HSW>END>SHB>STB>DWT>ARR
what saves dawntrail imo are the raids and dungeons, the way the devs changed how they wanted the fights to roll imo is a BIG step forward, less raid wipes and more chances for me to heal everyone back ? i love this i really do, the way DWT explores the arena is also really interesting, having prishe throwing you around the arena
having to dodge thousands of needles from Queen B. i really like this, also the entire energy with the new raids, we now have raids that are more fun its fun to be a gladiator for example, i spend the majority of my time doing dungeons and raids and im having the BEST time right now with DWT, its really that good
the issue i have is with MSQ, its completely out of pace
