Collector's Edition Scam?
I'm going back and forth with Squeenix's CS currently, but here's the situation I'm in.

Purchased the DT Collector's Edition in Steam ($60) seeing as the DT expansion ($40) and the Collector's Edition Upgrade ($20) in the Mog Station would cost the same amount ($40+$20=$60, hooray for math).

...The expansion releases and I don't have my Collector's Edition items even though I unlocked the Viper and Pictomancer. I try my CD Key redeem in the Mog Station for Collector's Edition and it says "The code is invalid." This is when I contact CS. They say the code is fine and hasn't been redeemed yet so I try again and no luck.

It's been 2 days of going back and forth so far and most recently they said that also I had the Early Expansion Access, I didn't have the Expansion itself.

So... is Steam charging for both the Expansion and the Upgrade but only providing the Upgrade? Assuming it even works after purchasing the Expansion itself.

first of all, there are 2 keys.
pre-order (which now doesnt works anymore because the window to enter thatone ended on the 28th of june).
and then, you have a collectors edition key.

both can be found under rightclicking your FF14 game --> managed --> product keys, but i assume you got that far already.

then you go to the mogstation, when you logged in is there a neat red box with the text "PC/MAC and Steam users, klick here and enter the key here" or something like that ... i hope you did that.

if you do not have said product keys here on steam like i wrote where they should be ... well then you bought your keys in the square enix store. you do know that keys from the square enix store dont work with the steam version and you need to buy expansions here from steam?

IIIIINNNN anycase, when you go into your account status (where you see what you own on your account on the mogstation) and it has a checkmark on DT are you fine, your items will sooner or later come ö.ö.

if not ... wwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll, then is your only way the square enix support if your key stays "invalid" because noone here can help you with this issue ... or do you think we are square enix staff and can generate new keys etc.?

however, there was a topic recently here where SE replied and said that there was issues with sending keys out and peoples simply needed to restart their steam (tho that was only for those where the key suddenly vanished).

I redeemed the Pre-Order without any issues, played during the whole thing, and had a blast. The Collector's Edition Content key however didn't work at all. SE-CS said that the reason it didn't work might have been because I didn't have the actual Expansion redeemed even though I had the Pre-Order.

I think everyone was grasping at straws by that point. Currently, the issue has been resolved and all is well, but it's still strange that the issue happened at all.
