FINAL FANTASY XIV Online

I have not bought Dawntrail expansion yet and probably wont soon
There are multiple problems i found in the game that i did not like.
First and foremost are healer changes that did not change nothing to be honest, healers are still very boring class even more so the more stuff tanks get. Dont get me wrong, more power to tanks to have fun, but healers should not be left alone pressing 1 button most of the time. Let healers do same or more damage than tanks like we used to have in stormblood and make their offensive kit more engaging, thats literally all they need right now.

Second is, i feel detached from my characters i used to play due to the graphic update and fantasia did not changed this fact. Mouths and noses change, some characters got really weird lipstick dye, some got eye bags. I dont like it.
Just get a look, none of my chars survived the change

Third, i was hoping for major pvp changes since i played it often, but nope. Nothing changed, no new abilities, same balance, no changed against premade groups, same old stuff that probably wont change for another 2 years. Nah thanks

Those 3 reasons put me away from this expansion, unfortunately for FFXIV i play other games and those got good updates lately.

having play both WoW and FF14, FF14 lacks mid-tier endgame, yeah Deep dungeons are nice but group content like M+.. and no criterion dungeons dont count lmao.

WoW is where the PvP will always be at. but raids and dungeons is FF14 hands down.

1.0 is the reason why FFXIV PVP will always feel so meh. Until SE decides to sit down and fix the spaghetti code it won't get better. I understand why it could not be done in the early days, but now that FFXIV has proven itself to be profitable there is no excuse.

After making it to max level I’d have to force myself to continue playing. The jobs are basically the same as they were in Endwalker. Extremely boring. People don’t realize it but this is part of the reason why people were so hard on the story. It was the only thing we had to look forward to since we have another expansion of fisher-price jobs. The encounters are off to a good start so that’s something I guess.

Its funny that people keep bringing up the story being average at best. Most of the expansions the story wasnt much better (besides shadow bringers). Lets be real all of the expansions are filled with anime cliches, pacing ranging from decent to terrible. I keep seeing people were expecting something different or better narratively speaking when in reality its the same quality writing they've been doing for years.

Don't get me wrong it has some really good moments but a lot of really mehhh moments with odd pacing and odd choices with giving exposition (mixing voice acted scenes, non voice acted scenes, and side quests). The average person just won't have the patience to sit through those cut scenes esp if they have to read. That's a shame because some of the best writing was in non voiced cut scenes.

If anything this expansion more like ARR has similar pacing problems, similar writing and they used similar formula (which was slowing story telling). You'd think SE would realize that they need to increase the quality to keep engagement especially if they plan on doing less action to start of a new 10 year narrative.

At this point, fixing the spaghetti code would take years. Because everything that was added since release has most like been stapled and duct taped to the original code, changing that original code can and will have unforseen consequences to everything else.
Remember "Amon Savage" during the first day of Dawntrail? Imagine that, but worse, for every piece of content.
Well what can I say to that, you do you.

Im pretty sure you have not played healer before and now just rounding down everything into the "strikers casuals".

There were thousands of complain posts on forums from people who do hard content for almost 4 full years straight, bringing same complaints.
It does not matter if you play at high level or low level, healer design is incredibly bad.
I am not an idiot i could check my parses and see hard facts how my gameplay looks like.
Usually 25 CPM using same 2 skills for DPS with overheals on top of it, do you call it fun?

And its funny you assume that gameplay is any different in savages or ultimates. No it is not.
Healers are fun in alliance raids exclusively, on harder content people doing mistake wipes the raid and they getting killed in red, there is no room for "heal other people mistakes"

Ok.

Don't buy it please, don't do the same mistake I did. You should totally wait until SE makes an announcement on this and hopefully apologizes for what they have done. Development Team decided to make an political statement; I decided no playing their game.

Yep, best to wait. You're not missing anything. I've was on the edge, but got swept by my friends and their hype for new adventure/vacations etc. This is the only xpac that I regret buying, as veteran with 11k hours, I think it's time for me, to leave this game.

If you enjoy it, then you won, good job and keep at it. There isn't anything wrong with liking or disliking something.

It's hard to admit something like this, especially when you're veteran player. Coming to terms that this game isn't really ''peak'' and so amazing. I guess my honey moon phase ended finally, when Dawntrail hitted me again and again. Loong honey moon tho, 11k hours.

I honestly suggest at this point to anyone who hasn't bought this, You should wait for Post Dawntrail before purchasing.

See if SE is gunna double down on the awful story telling or if they're gunna smarten up and rehire quality control experts to keep Team B in check.

This entire expansion is 100% on Team B, And even if it ain't they still need Quality Control Experts to keep them from having free reign.

Between this and Endwalker they proved they aren't competent, 10 Year Build Up and you memed not only Garlean empire but also Zodiark. Only to replace him immediately with some depressed birb who wants everyone to perish so no more noise.

Then you throw us a bone and let us explore the void, Things start looking up . . AAAAAAAND we rushed it all in post! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY

13th / Void shoulda been its own expansion not squandered by clowns at the office who clearly got the job cause they know someone who works at SE. They rushed Void to force you onto Lamat and then force Dawntrail.

Joke company letting this happen, They need people keeping them in check they can't contain themselves from doing this crud.

If they want this game to survive they need to give Yoshi full control of who works on FFXIV and not pull him away from FFXIV again, Nobody else at their company is competent.

People complained that FromSoft's B Team ruined DS2, boy howdy do I have another B Team to show them. FF16 taking Yoshi P away from FF14 will go down as one of the worst decisions SE has ever made. I have a love-hate relationship with Endwalker, but I hate what they did with Dawntrail. So glad I waited and watched people stream and do Let's Plays of this expansion, because I would be pissed if I paid for this.

What "political statement" did they make?
