Will the Dawntrail expansion go on sale before release?

This will be the first expansion I've been here for the release of and I was wondering if FFXIV expansions ever receive sales on Steam before releasing? If they do, does anyone remember what the normal discount is?

Nope. Full price or wait. Think about it from a business and PR perspective: If they had a sale after preordering became available, but before the pre-order period ended, that would alienate (and likely infuriate) everyone that preordered at the earliest chance.

Thanks for the response :) I just wanted to confirm because I have seen some games go on sale before release in the past and as you said people get annoyed when they've already made the purchase ;)

GMG had 15% discount for Dawntrail last month, unfortunately that version isn't compatible with Steam.

Judging from Endwalker sales I expect Dawntrail won't see a sale until December (or at least on steam), and there's no guarantee for even that.

From someone that bought the past three expansions on pre-order unless you are a endgame lifeskiller / gil marker or raider you are better waiting to buy this expansion on sale.
Lack of new tank / healer is so bad.
