FFXIV might lose some players that were just barely scraping by playing on their toaster before the update, but they'll be replaced by new players drawn in by the fact that it's actually becoming a modern looking MMO.
End of the day FFXIV will probably gain more than it loses with this change; which is why Square opted to do it. New expansion means a lot of new eyes will be on this game, so Square wants the game looking it's best.
but they aren't redoing any zones or changing any quests??
so, the FFXIV version of Cataclysm, the...one without a cataclysm? huh?
(TBC was the 'bad' launch)
You're aware this is a PC game yes? You can just, ya know, turn the settings down.
2.0 was the XIV version of Cata. You know, the part where the cataclysmic event made significant changes to the world.
So?
Nobody is talking about 2.0
For someone who spends the majority of their time complaining about people's reading comprehension, I would expect you to be able to infer from my post that Dawntrail will not be "the XIV version of Cata" because it isn't comparable to Cata in any way, while ARR was.
We've already had the XIV version of Cata and Dt ain't it.
Either way the minority often has loud voice but it doubt it'll last long
If the benchmark is anything to judge by...the graphics are still hot garbage, changes are barely noticeable.
