No anticheat will be put in this game, ever.
Gshade was a closed source reshade fork. Honestly, no one should have been using that to begin with considering it was never open source.
Addons break for about 2 weeks. That happens every expansion.
It absolutely remains a random number. I have been playing since 2014. Started on the PS3, migrated to PS4, then Steam, then got the latest expansion on PS4 because my pc died, then back to PC and i got the free PS5 upgrade and because i could, i got the free starter perk from gamepass.
I can count on one hand the amount of toxicity I have encountered throughout these 10 years of constant play.
So, where is that 60% number of toxic players at? Why have I not encountered much toxicity if there are so many toxic players?
You have your own experience and sure enough, they are valid. But my dude, you have not met 60% of the player base to be able to make such a statement.
I absolutely disagree. 100%. There is no 'our likes and dislikes'. Toxicity is pretty clear cut. It's not about what you or I like or dislike. Someone who is flat out being toxic is going to be told so by everyone period.
I love to talk in party chat and spam emotes to make runs more fun. Some people dislike that, am I toxic for trying to make the run more fun? Certainly not. This is but one example of how bad your argument is.
I have been part of countless FCs over the years, interacted with countless random people both on the overworld/cities and in party finders. The amount of toxicity I have found was nearly none. If you have such an enormous amount of toxicity sent your way, ever thought that YOU might be the issue and not '60%' of the player base? Never occured to you that you might do or say things that doesn't fly well with people, like idk, acting like most of the community were douches? That certainly counts as one thing that would put you into a situation where you get told off.
And as for your last statement.. That made me laugh. I spent 10 years in XIV, barely interacted with toxic people. I was offered help constantly when I first started out. Made a ton of friends, most duties I go into people are understanding of either being new to content or being rusty. I play DPS, Tank and Healer and even though I am a barely average healer, I never had anyone do nothing else but give friendly advices and try to elevate my gameplay.
I spent 3 hours in WoW and for daring to ask where the marketplace was as a new player, I got harassed and insulted for 45 minutes with people following me everywhere to nag me.
I got people with zero care about someone just trying to run a dungeon and enjoy the content they paid for, i got insulted for not magically knowing where to go in the massive overworld that has barely any proper indicators of where to go.
Sure, there ARE rotten apples. Like with everything else. But XIV is by far the most welcoming community I have ever seen. There might be issues with the hardcore raiding scene., but that applies to absolutely every game that has some form of hardcore content, so that hardly matters.
My man, it's a social game. If you join a group and you stay silent, say nothing, or end up being rude with people trying to socialize, then you're the issue. Not the person who is trying to be social.
Hell, toxic positivity actually annoys me the most. The people who drop in an instance and immediately regurgitate a wall of text with all the mechanics in a fight, start passive-aggressively telling people what to do and not do, annoying levels of positivity spamming in chat, etc.. Ugh. I just wanna watch those people wipe. <.<;;
AH yes, 'toxic'. Someone who craves social interactions in a social environment is toxic. Sounds to me like MMOs aren't for you.
And at this point, we can play the reverse. DO not force your lack of need for social interactions on people. Stay silent when someone is being social and don't interact with them. As simple as that.
The thing is that if positivity annoys you, then idk what to tell you really.
If you're annoyed that people are in a good mood and joyful, then YOU are de facto the toxic one.
And when I say 'spamming emote' I mean DOING emotes with my character. If this annoys you, then sorry to tell you that you don't belong in a darn social game.
It isn't black and white like that. Both sides of the spectrum, and people in between, have their share of toxicity.
And, right, that kind of emote. Duh. I'm dumb. I didn't even think of that kind. To be fair, those can be annoying, too, but really only the one where it sounds/looks like the catgirl is moaning while kneeling in front of someone. <.<;;
