Naoki Yoshida is not your friend and will say anything to sell a new product

I know that many people in this great community view Naoki Yoshida as a savior-like figure and would love to lick the ground he walks on because he once cried on a stage over a decade ago (because he knew his career depended on ARR) and because he regularly tells people to play other games (unless you own a house which means you need to stay subbed), but it is still baffling to me that so many people will believe every single word that comes out of his mouth regarding Dawntrail, when most of it is just the usual pre-expansion sales talk that he always does.

He's been repeatedly out of touch with the community, a famous example being him telling healer mains to go play Ultimate if they're bored with two damage skills from level 4 to level 90. Not only has he been dismissive of player concerns regarding gameplay, in some instances he's also been outright lying, such as that one time he tried to pass off "button bloat" as the reason for Hissatsu: Kaiten's removal on samurai. The massive negative feedback on that decision has been ignored ever since 6.1.
There are other instances of him being clueless and out of touch I remember, for example him not understanding how people could possibly relate to / sympathize with Emet-Selch (not justify his actions, mind you) or some misleading comments about Myths of the Realm having the same difficulty as Stormblood's Alliance Raid series. I don't have the exact quotes for these last two, but I vividly remember making fun of these comments back then.

So, when he enters his usual salesman mode at the end of every expansion, he will say anything to make you preorder the next one as soon as possible.

1. jobs such as AST and DRG have reworks confirmed but were pushed back to 7.0

I personally just view him as the lead developer for the game I play and thus I blame everything on him meaning I don't view him as a god or whatever, only as a person I complain too in order to improve the game I like

yeah there's been alot of negative things he's done or allowed to happen but at the end of the day I personally don't care that much about him. I'm only thinking about FFXIV and trying to convince yoshi to implement something is freaking bloody hard because they wear blinds and focus more on the jp regions feedback than the NAs

yeah, i'm not going to lie. I am too trusting to people and yes, i'm working on that negative trait of mine.

in the end though we all still play ffxiv.
Yoshi doesn't though and it shows in what they release and make for ffxiv.

by making this thread you are helping improve the game and community because the Yoshi Cult is a real thing and it's a group that only does harm for FFXIV because they worship in a false idol which behavior like that allows feedback that won't make the game better to slip through the cracks and make it to the live servers.

you cant make it right for everyone.
since it is not "perfect" for him specificly needs he to whine about it.
the the thing is, i agree with what yoshida says. if peoples say "man, normal content is so boring" ... well yea, then do savage, ultimate and unreal, simple as that. it isnt anymore that easy in savage. i recently did iconoclasm in savage and the difference between the normal eden iconoclasm vs savage is machic wise way harder then the normal version.

You forgot to mention he also cried on stage with the Shadow Bringers expansion due to Soken's cancer. This man is genuine as they come.
