Question about buying the Steam version of FFXIV
Hello,

I play FFXIV on the windows launcher version and I'm looking to move to steam as the sqex store no longer supports my region.

If I preorder Dawntrail on steam and get the online starter edition of FFXIV will I get all the previous DLCs on steam or do I have to buy endwalker as well?

the storepage tells you what is inside Dawntrail...

Windows and steam is NOT compatible as said MANY times before

I know it's not compatible. I'm asking about if buying dawntrail would give you the other dlcs, like how endwalker did. I just want to know if it will give all the other dlcs if I buy just the starter edition and dawntrail

Yeah, you'll get all of the previous DLC including Endwalker, but you will not be able to play past Stormblood until the 2nd of July, they don't unlock until the official release day along with Dawntrail, as that is what you are buying.

Maybe? In the FAQ:

"Both versions of FINAL FANTASY XIV are identical. However, due to some additional features associated with the Steam platform, a standard Windows PC version of FINAL FANTASY XIV is incompatible with a Steam version of the same title. Expansions also must be registered on the same platform as their base game."

This might be a little outdated as well.

You would need to purchase the Steam version of the base game. In the mog station (FFXIV account website), the expansions do not appear to differentiate between Windows and Steam. So you should still have them active when you launch from Steam (and link your steam account). If you purchase the expansions through Steam, you just get a code that you will need to activate in the mog station anyways.

Also: "Registration of this product grants users access to Dawntrail, as well as previous expansion packs, Shadowbringers and Endwalker."
