Windows and steam is NOT compatible as said MANY times before
I know it's not compatible. I'm asking about if buying dawntrail would give you the other dlcs, like how endwalker did. I just want to know if it will give all the other dlcs if I buy just the starter edition and dawntrail
"Both versions of FINAL FANTASY XIV are identical. However, due to some additional features associated with the Steam platform, a standard Windows PC version of FINAL FANTASY XIV is incompatible with a Steam version of the same title. Expansions also must be registered on the same platform as their base game."
This might be a little outdated as well.
You would need to purchase the Steam version of the base game. In the mog station (FFXIV account website), the expansions do not appear to differentiate between Windows and Steam. So you should still have them active when you launch from Steam (and link your steam account). If you purchase the expansions through Steam, you just get a code that you will need to activate in the mog station anyways.
Also: "Registration of this product grants users access to Dawntrail, as well as previous expansion packs, Shadowbringers and Endwalker."
