Honestly it's just like a normal release except that you're essentially agreeing to that there COULD be bugs and heavy congestion.

few days early access at zero cost = greed.

They've done this every single expansion, and it's only a few days anyway. If you pre-order Dawntrail, you can play it from the Friday before release, that's all.

I think not, if they wanted to be greedy they could add early access to the CE version only and charge twice as much, then, it would be greedy.

But as it is now, it's been like this since the Original launch of the game (1.0) in august of 2010, you pre-order, you get early access.

Thought the same first time i read it.
But you only need to pre order it, its not like wow that you need to pay double the price to get early.
Only reason i see why they do it is for server, everyone who wanna play it will now pre order and they will know how big server they need

Early access has been around since 1.0. It would have been more surprising if they didn't do it for Dawntrail.

They give people who preorder the expansions early access to stagger server stress. Let's say half of the people who are finished with Endwalker pre order Dawntrail. For the few days of early access, that group of people will probably finish the first part of the new story and stuff like dungeons and junk. Then on the release day, those areas with those first things in them won't be nearly as crowded.

Or it'll end up like with Endwalker where you can play fine during early access then you can't get back in the game for a month because everyone's riding an escalator to the moon.

wut? because you need to pre-order it is ... "greedy"? ... oooook. i have the feeling you got confused with the standard and deluxe edition and you somehow think you need to buy the deluxe edition to get early access ... which is not the case o_o.
