Re-purchasing on steam

I had to make a new Squeenix account since I can't recover my old one. It's been a few years since I've played the game and badly want to get back into it. This may be a stupid question but I'm wondering if there's a way to repurchase the game to get a new CD key since I can't use the one I already have.

No. If you refund and repurchase Steam will give you the same keys.

As mentioned above, do not re-buy it again, this will give you the same CD key as your first purchase and will be invalid as you've already used that.

However, you can actually re-buy the game again, but ONLY if you have not purchased the Complete Edition before on your Steam account.
If you bought the A Realm Reborn or Starter Edition version, you can make a brand new Square Enix account and link it to your Steam, then use the Complete Edition CD key on it.

This works, because it gives you a new, different Starter Edition (A Realm Reborn) CD key, and is the only way to get it twice on the same Steam account.
I have personally done this and Support actually told me to do this after I lost access to my old ID.

If you need to UnLink your old SE ID, you can do this once, if you've already linked your Steam account to the old SE ID, let me know if you need assist doing so and I can explain how and where to go etc.

So, yes you can add the new SE ID.
Your situation depends how, go check your purchase history or right click on FFXIV in your Library list, go to Manage, then CD keys, look in the list displayed and check "Complete Edition" isn't on the list, if it is, you've purchased it once and cannot buy it twice!

uh, the only way would be a new steam account BUT ... then make you maybe the same mistake like everyone else ... aka linking the new FF14 to the wrong SE account OR vice versa.

if you choose to do that ... BE VERY CAREFULL in which accounts you are logged in during the link process.

on the other hand, buy FF14 as windows version, its easier.
because, one mistake in the link process here on steam and the entire new license you just bought hangs in limbo until SE does something.

Hey, facing the same problem here
When I add complete edition to shopping cart steam says I won't get any additional copies of FF14 Online. Is it okay or am I screwed?
