how do i play for free trial version on steam?

im getting some kinda error saying "failed to retreive information from steam" after i clicked play

i got past it after i restarted but now it says "the service account does not have valid final fantasy license or the subscribtion have ended"

have never tried this game ever i first downloaded launcher from their official website registered and then i uninstalled it and then i tried download free trial from steam and i linked my account with steam

Generally Steam and Windows versions are not compatible. If you made your account using the free trial using the Windows (standalone) version you're stuck with that unless you make a new account.

and since i linked my steam account already with that account i would need to make new steam account for it aswell?

Make sure the flag for your region is selected in the upper right hand corner of the webpage. You're looking for the 'via this form' link within the paragraphs there.

If you want to use the hours tracking of Steam, add the Windows version as a non-Steam game. There's no practical difference between the versions, just one has Steam DRM and one does not. Adding it as non-Steam gets you hour tracking, which is the only benefit past a lil tiny bit of security but you're already using 2FA, right? RIGHT?! =)

Also, just ignore the people who are offering their special brand of tech support. I know they seem rude, but they're trying to help in their own weird way. "RTFM" is not terrible advice, even if it's also not particularly helpful. In game is nothing at all like the community here on the Steam forums. We're here, instead of happily playing the game.

It can. It has to be done by a human, it's not an automated process. It's unlikely, but if Bob down in account management has twelve hundred of them to get through, it'll be a few days. That notice is for managing your expectations, that's all. The one thing it WILL probably wait on is business hours in Japan. Nobody's getting up at stupid o'clock to handle this sort of thing.

i tried downloading the game through windows launcher and im getting some kinda patch error and it cancels the idownloading i think i give up

you're not the only one. I have given up several times trying to install this game both on PC and consoles. It is a headache.
