FINAL FANTASY XIV Online

Can I use my Steam Wallet to pay for a subscription?
Basically the title. I got this game via Steam and am planning on getting the Endwalker expansion a few days after posting this, but I'm concerned about the monthly subscription.

My current plan is to pay via my Steam wallet, since my current financial situation prohibits direct payments from a card, but I'm not seeing any options in-game or on the store page to let me do so.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Yes, you can pay by the money you have on your steam wallet.
I believe when you choose to renew your subscrition, where will be a button which shows the steam itself, which is taken from your steam wallet.
However, I would recommend wait until the dawntrial expasion launcher fully (not the early acess)
And you can have every expansion until dawntrial by just buying one time.

you can yes. you log into your Mogstation account that the game is linked to and there will be a "steam payment" option on there. I do it that way myself.

Can also confirm. that's how I pay through too. Funds to the wallet, wallet payment across to Mogstation. Boom.

I still have 20 days on my trial, but I just got Endwalker. My current plan is to wait until I'm a bit closer to the end of my trial, maybe 3 or 4 days remaining, and then I'll start a subscription up using you guys' suggestions.

Now my concern is that when I start said subscription, will it immediately demand payment, or will it take the first payment when the first 180 day period is close to expiration? If it's the latter, that'll give me a bit more prep time. I don't quite have the available funds right this second to allow the former, but it wouldn't take too much effort to take care of that between now and the end of my trial period.

Did you get Endwalker or Dawntrail. Cause if you get Dawntrail you will get Shadowbringers and Endwalker along with it. when it releases on the 2nd. plus a pre-order code bonus of a minion and a +30% bonus earing up to lvl 90.
When you do subscription you pay for it then and there and the game time gets added.
You can do it in 30, 90 or 180 day segments.

I got Endwalker. You're saying that if I got Dawntrail, it would've given me Endwalker for *free*?

that is exactly what I am saying yes. you would have to wait for Dawntrails proper release. but you'd have gotten all the expansions not provided by the base game purchase.

And now that I've paid for Endwalker, would I *also* have to pay for Dawntrail separately?

I dont know. you might be able to get a refund on endwalker if you have not used the key yet. (honestly not sure you'd have to check) and if so you could get dawntrail with the refunded money.
if that wont work, you'd eventually have to pay for dawntrail seperatly yes

I've already applied the CD key for Endwalker, and applied the patch and even made a Viera character. Guess I'm SOL...

Meh. I was already thinking I'd need to pay for them separately, so it's something I was prepared for anyway, but learning that I could've gotten Endwalker effectively for free if the store had bothered to even *mention* it is a real kick in the 'nads...

You can get a refund on Endwalker, if you haven't used the CD key, possibly if you have, but want to purchase Dawntrail, they may allow you to.

What you can do if you haven't reached Endwalker content, is go to your steam > Account > check purchase history and see if "refund" is still active, if it is, refund it, and then purchase Dawntrail.

Dawntrail gives you Endwalker and Shadowbringers, but not until the 2nd of July, they will remain inactive until Dawntrails official launch.

Check refund status, then contact support on steam from the support area, click endwalker, in the info box, tell them you made a mistake and wanted Dawntrail, as it includes Endwalker, they may assist you if you haven't owned Endwalker for 7 to 14 days, worth a try, I've done this myself after using the key and they refunded.

Yeah just looked on the steam store page. Kinda dumb that it dose not mention it.

I've submitted a refund request. I just hope it goes through. I'm especially worried because iirc, Steam has a 2 hour time limit for most refunds, but just *downloading* the expansion took nearly twice that. I have less than 10 minutes actually *using* the DLC...

Either way, it's outta my hands. I actually have to log off right now, so I'll more than likely post an update on this thread tomorrow at roughly the same time of day.

Wish me luck, and peace out!

Cancel the request, and do a pre-order of Dawntrail for the 30% exp up to lvl90 item. It will go a long way in the next two years if you continue playing. Not a deal breaker but very useful when leveling up diff jobs

What is not fomo though is you don't need to get the collector editions - you can upgrade to them when it goes on sale for half the price. It was 35 euro for the upgrade bundle for up to EW on sale instead of 70
