what server should i choose?

I come from WoW and wanted to give ff14 a chance but im not sure what server to go with. I was gonna go on EU Shiva because i heard that there are lots of german speaking players on there but i cant make a character on it. Are there any suggestions on what server i should roll on or avoid?

Pretty sure you can make at least 1 character in any DC regardless of the version or region you bought.

Referring to the EU lodestone page, if you are talking about the "Creation of New Characters Unavailable" status, it will change in a couple of hours (or around midnight EU time usually) then you can create your character when it happens. Do note you can create your character in any of the worlds in EU and DC travel to shiva if you really wanted to (you lose some functionality like retainers and housing though).

Yea i have done some research and dont really want to lose some funtions. Is it best just to wait some hours to create my character? I read some good stuff about Phoenix but Shiva also sounds good for me because im german

ultimately it will make a small difference regardless of which world within the DC you decide to create you character in unless you want to join a friend FC or reap the marketboard reputation (or (E)RP reputation) of specific worlds since most content done in DR are usually quiet and end game content are formed on PFs which are cross world...

But yeah, waiting it out isn't a bad idea either way, hopefully shiva isn't as packed since I remember I had to attempt for days to create my character in my DC since the window was open for only 1 hour a day around 3am-4am
