FINAL FANTASY XIV Online

FINAL FANTASY XIV Online

Seriously thinking about skipping the main quest.
I enjoy the pug raids like Crystal Tower.
Love the music and art.
I really enjoy the crafting and trading on the auction house.

All I want is to log on for an hour or two and do pug raids/dungeons, do a little bit of exploration at my own leisure, gather resources, craft stuff and then call it a night.

But the questing and constant dialogue is getting in the way of this.
I just started Stormblood but I can't find the motivation to go through with it even though
I enjoy the game itself.

So when Dawntrail comes out, I presume there will be a way to skip Endwalker and all previous expansions on the mog store or is that incorrect?

I don't know if it'll be released right when it's out, but a skip to DT should be released at some point. You can always go back and do the story later via NG+

Imho if you're already at stormblood doing the msq while fast clicking dialogs and skipping cutscenes doesn't take that much time. In terms of value, buying the skip at that point is not worth it.

3 expansions of story is still a lot of story, even if you skip it. It's not like you can dialogue skip travelling.

Gentle suggestion to find something you don't have to pay extra to enjoy. ^^ I'd recommend using the money for a different game that's actually what you like, instead of a skip. There's enough games out there that it's 100% possible to find your niche, rather than trying to make this square peg fit a round hole.

Otherwise yeah, if it's not out immediately it'll be out within a few days of launch.

you can always stop the msq and do side content (and the higher your progress in the MSQ, the more side content you'll have to chose from). But yo ucan only discover things through the MSQ once.
I would just advice to simply do a bit of the MSQ at a time and do the side content you enjoy on the side the rest of the time. There isn't really a point in rushing things.

From someone who HATES quests and my friend got me into this game awhile back. II can say that quest in this game are easy and straightforward, my only issue with the game are aeather currents. The MSQ doesnt take much time at all.
Thanks everyone that replied.

I have like 300 hours played. I stopped playing like 2 years ago because I could not bare the prospect of going through another hundred of hours of quests and cutscenes.

In fact, I remember very little of the story or its characters but I remember the great gameplay and fun I had doing tradeskills and raids.

The compromise I have found is that I'll get the Endwalker skip potion when it comes out AND watch youtube videos that quickly recap the story and major quests of each expansion.
If a quest looks fun or important enough, I'll do it using a newgame+ as someone here mentionned.

Nah I did stormblood to endwalker in like 2 days. It's really not that bad.

The Skips are offered on the Store for a reason.

Do the things you want to do,

Don't waste your time doing things you don't like.

And especially do not listen to MSQ-Tourists, who barely even PLAY the Game.

Skip, it's your game, your money, your fun, but, think if it is really worth, you're going to pay to not play a game, a game which the story is one of the main selling points, is like buying a chocolate cake and removing all the chocolate out of it.

But why not buy a new game with that money?

The problem is not every single dialogue Box is Fully Voice acted Therefore most people don't care about it It's a good story yes. But your average gamer nowadays Only cares for instant gratification He expects.
He's going to walk in the end Game and one shot every single boss First try

You sound exactly like those kids who complain that there's nothing to do

When you have not touched a single side piece of content
