FINAL FANTASY XIV Online

Things I wish would change / be added
Retainer banking, rather than summoning your retainers separately have a single unified bank that grows with each retainer, you can give each page a name to note which retainer is holding each item. This is simply to simply banking.

Donation box, I have an endless amount of items I don't want, I'd like a box I can drop them in and let a newer play take said item for themselves. Mind you I'm thinking items that inherently have no real value like copper ingots, I'd limit to only crafting materials you can find before Heaven'sward to ensure the economy isn't too hammered by this.

Sanctuary Sprinting, if I'm in a Sanctuary just let me sprint by default, seriously what's the harm in that? some of these towns are huge I'd argue for always sprinting outside of combat but I'll accept just in Sanctuaries.

Class menu improvements, So this would probably be the most controversial thing I want. So right now gear sets don't do it for me, I'd rather have a menu where you have each class you have unlocked displayed and you assign your armors to it through this menu. Now you might be asking what the point of this is. Well if you have an official statement of this is the gear I use for this class you can easily open your crafting menu as say a Dark Knight, pick something make as a Goldsmith and have the game change you into a Goldsmith to make it, then over to a Leatherworker to make that, and finish what you're making as a Blacksmith without needing to manually change class each time. You could also queue for dungeons as say a bard, switch to Dragoon and doing quests or something and when you load into the dungeon you are switched to your Bard gear. I hope I am explaining what I want well enough here but I think it would be a large QUALITY OF LIFE change, this isn't a game breaker just an annoyance I think the game would be better if addressed.

Counter suggestion: allow us to use mounts in Citystates.

The original reason we couldn't ride our mounts in the cities was that Chocobos are flighty and dislike being in areas with many people. The problem with this is that Chocobos in the terms of mounts are now a vast minority. Hell, I have a car, a motorcycle, and a personal transformation into a Phoenix. There's no way my bike is afraid of people and won't drive in a city.

That will never happen. You used to be able to use mounts in cities but later on they removed the ability to do that. People would use mounts to block story/event NPCs and use them to harass others not to mention the lag issues with so many people on their mounts.

Can you imagine how bad Limsa would be? Right now, it's a cesspool of degeneracy. Add mounts on top of that and it would be unplayable.

I concede that I didn't factor in the trolling potential of mounts, though I still have a question...

When was this? I've been playing since late 2.0, before 2.1 came out, and I've never seen mounts being allowed in cities. Was this one of the things they changed from 1.0?

...But they could just do this literally anywhere else in the game. You can mount in Mor Dhona, Idyllshire and Rhalgr's Reach for example and it's fine.

Very strange argument.

Mor Dhona is a whole zone. Crystal Tower, the Castrum, and the later part of the ARR questline is there as well. So makes sense they'd allow mounts there. Dunno bout Rhalgr's maybe because there's two entrances and exits? Idyllshire? I dunno. It exists it allows it.

But compare those zones to Limsa or Gridania. Far more foot traffic, far more players, a ton more NPCs and people want to add mounts on top of that? Yeah no. Also people suck and will 100% try to harass others or troll to block NPCs so people can't play. Remember when Asmongold first played FFXIV and people blocked the NPC he needed to talk to with their mounts?

Yeah. No thanks. Also there's the Aethernet to get around quickly. So there's no reason to have mounts in the city for any reason at all.

No, it isn't. None of those places has anywhere near the same amount of people we have in major City States. It almost feels like you never play the game before.

I would STILL take the forever sprint. It's practical. Doesn't hurt other city players.

It's not a permanent sprint effect, but it's longer.

It's hilarious that this exists. I never knew. Still... A sprint like island would be nice.

Sprint should be a toggle out of combat

Why its not a toggle like island sanctuary is beyond me.

Indeed. Since it has no real advantage. It wouldn't beat any mount so that's not one. It only has a shade of advantage in combat for going from point A to point B faster.

They could just make it a toggle when you are in a sanctuary and use the normal cooldown outside of cities. Easy fix but I doubt it'll ever happen
