I don't think so but if that is all we have to go on it seems unrealistic.
You have to think about the upcoming patches (won't take long till 7.1 appears with it's first raid tier, ...) which adds some more GBs because of the new content plus BGM, models (NPCs, Mounts & Minions, Gear, Furniture...), etc.
Or maybe the 140 GB requirement takes this into account.
I certainly dont have 60 gb of space.
It isn't just the expansion. It's a visual upgrade for pretty much everything in the game. A lot of assets are being replaced with new higher fidelity versions. It all adds up.
FFXIV is 'upgrading' their environs, meaning, the game environment, as well as character models and the like. Whether we like them or not. Additionally - the 'DL' size is gonna be massive. Why? Because 'pretty' requires MB's and GB'S in most cases. Why? Because to render that much graphics, and that much yakking, require a TON of compiling...
I hope you ... no, you probably don't.
Look. UPGRADING FFXIV to their new texture maps is a LOT of data.
It also means A LOT of supporting data. As I mentioned earlier.
So, lets just move forward.
I now have 60.3 GB free and can shrink that further if needed.
My chances of playing Dawntrail have increased. :D
But yeah, new drives are fairly cheap.. unfortunately, the need for multiple terabytes (well, if you love to game) is approaching rapidly.
for example: i have a seagate barracuda HDD and my loading times are between 10~15seconds, the benchmark shown an overall of 12.63 seconds loading time. i mean, the HDD which i have is the fastest HDD you can get as of now and is fairly expensive but, an SSD is for dawntrail only "recommended" and i seen from peoples which used an SSD on the benchmark having 5~7 seconds loading time. so ... it isnt really a difference. so, i assume if you have a fairly new HDD and not a 10 year old HDD will you have maybe 15~20seconds loading time, maybe 30 seconds on first load + depends how fast your PC overall is, i got a score of nearly nearly 15k with my AMD ryzen 5 2600x and nvidia rtx 2060 super. so, if you have a higher spec then i have+ a fast HDD can ya just putt it into your HDD.
if not need you to probably buy a new SSD x3.
or a seagate baracuda ... tho you get a new SSD cheaper then a baracuda xD.
