How prevalent are macro usage there?
Google "Light PF Does Ultimate" and that is the main raiding discord
Light is the equivalence to Aether on NA, but people are chillin' until Dawntrail, so don't expect activity on older content to be any different.
Aether raid scene is.. rough until about 6p EST, sometimes later. That goes for any ultimate. UCoB does have few pf parties, but they do exist, its just, optimal time to play is like you said.. EU 2a-6a. Because thats just how the NA raid scene works.
Your best bet, just simply due to EU time, is to find a static in NA, but even then, youre raiding until 3a-4a if youre lucky.
I think, if youre interested in raiding, finding optimal times for yourself would be wise, and that is likely going to mean transferring to EU.
This is why i recommended joining the LPDU discord, and looking around to see if there are any UCOB pf parties on EU, at or around your time to play, which would likely tell you what works for you.
Ultimately, you have to weigh your two sides of the coin. 1 being your friend that you play with does come back, are you weighing playing with them more than ridiculous raid times (though I do know there are some early AM statics in NA, but that predominantly is because of folks in the east) or, 2, are you going to weigh prioritizing raiding more and if your friend does come back for DT, one of you has to transfer or make an alt.
Realistically, if they aren't into raiding, you could always make an alt, boost it, and then just leave it there, but it ultimately comes down to how you feel about the situation.
If i were in your shoes, I would transfer to EU if raiding is going to be a main focus, or, stick NA and try to find a static that works for your times.
My friend hasn't been on in *months*, I somewhat doubt DT will change the situation. Also they have no interest in raiding whatsoever. I'll see how the situation unravels, but I think I've got a fair idea now of what I wanted to know. Is there any best server to join in Light?
Lastly, I've never raided week 1, I usually raid after getting a full set of the normal raid gear which takes around a month. What strats does EU use for Savage? In NA, it's usually Hector/ thepfstr.at. I used thepfstr.at for all P1-12, and it was absolutely brilliant. Though I think P12 was just pastebin. Are NA/ EU strats identical/ mostly similar?
Also, if you raid week 1/2, maybe could help me with this: do you need a full set of crafted, pentamelded gear to raid week 1? I am in no rush to raid usually, but I think it would be fun to start raiding earlier. Only problem is I don't wanna spend 10M on pentamelded gear lol What are the minimum requirements you would say to raid week 1/2? Is pentamelded gear really necessary? Of course food and pots are a given, but I'd only pot when going for a clear anyway
I can't 100% say for certain, but LPDU should have most strats, due to it being a small DC. As for what world, whatever has space. PF isn't limited to worlds, its DC wide. So if you land on Light, you just look for a PF. Being on the "raid world" as it were is irrelevant now a days. Even if youre on the other one, just DC hop.
Multi DC strats were a thing when DCs were locked, now its basically regionwide afaik. Atleast for NA, we just use whatever aether uses, however, for week 1, there isnt a strat. Youre finding the strat that works for your team. Hence why pf doesnt really start flooding until someone releases a strat guide.
As for what you should have going into a week 1 savage, I mean, you should have full crafted and pentamelded set, because that is your prog set, with the extreme weapon, normally. It technically is hurting your team to not do it, especially in the more hardcore groups, as that little extra dps does count when it comes to enrages until gear starts dropping for you and your group.
Im not a hardcore raider, but I do not appreciate someone coming in without being prepared, and that means food, pots and pentamelded crafted set. I can look past the extreme weapon, but baseline, I believe, and many others do too, that if youre entering a week 1/2 prog, you should have that, and you will pretty much keep it until you get your BIS items
