Thank you, Railgun, I appreciate it, for real.
I was just mostly curious what specific class to start with to be in limsa lominsa and if I throw that boost if it will be possible to get Dancer. Again, not really for me, but for my gf, but I am considering it, too. Like, I know Marauder starts in Limsa Lominsa, but Archer starts somewhere else, and in the job tab when opening the character, Dancer is in the Archer tree. Some people told me to get a boost level from either disciples of war or magic, I don't see how that is possible unless I misunderstood something or I am wrong. I know though, thanks to you and some others, that it is possible to get Dancer in Limsa Lominsa without needing to do all the content/dlc stories to reach ShB. I am just asking at this point which boost level pass for which specific class to get instead?
I'm not knowledgeable enough in all the different classes, their starting areas and where do they quest, but I can link you to this website, where you can see information about every class and where it starts (it says that Dancer starts in Limsa). https://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/Class
The entire website is a Bible when it comes to Final Fantasy XIV. You can use it for everything and it's easy to navigate from the panel on the left.
As long as you're sure to explain that it's a terrible idea, and that most people who play the game long enough highly discourage it.
It is not .-
You won't know how your class works. You'll be blind, and Hall of the Novice won't do much to help.
All we can do is explain the pros and cons and let the player decide. That way they can make an informed decision and not be surprised by things they could have known about beforehand.
At the end of the day it's their decision and the right choice for them might be to buy the appropriate skip. Even if those people would be a small minority of players.
I think what Railgun tries to give as an alternative suggestion is a good idea, at least for my girlfriend, for me, I guess as a first timer I will try to respect the game more and progress like a madman at the same time. lol I REALLY want to play Dark Knight and later on Gunbreaker. They look cool but I also found their mechanics interesting!
Thank you for your concern, I can see your mindset is on a good place.
The good news is, once you reach 50 you know roughly how a tank is going to work regardless, so GNB can be taken up at that point immediately. Unfortunately, DRK will require you to get through to HW expansion.
Some people might pick up a class quickly. I would say they are likely a vast minority of players.
Since it is a vast minority and I wouldn't take someone's word on it unless I knew them in real life and knew they were quick to pick up classes, I would never recommend anyone do a skip.
Especially for first character ever or first character after a long break from the game.
oh wow, i am 16, probably missed that quest.......did i lost it forever now? Also, just unlocked DF, clicked on Satasha, no idea what's happening now, just staring at the place. lol
