Can't buy a level boost through Mogstation?
Getting an error, it won't let me purchase from Mogstation. I want to get that level boost. Is it because I got the game through Steam?

I'm currently leveling something as a matter of fact.(without the buff)
Fast ? Sure. Boring ? Haven't had a more boring leveling experience in any game to this day.
And I'm not the only one. I see posts complaining about leveling every other day.

So when I see someone that feels like I do that wants to skip , I try to encourage him because apart from leveling, this game is actually pretty cool.

Thanks for that. To be fair, I can understand both points and I think I might just go that long and tiring road of grinding, but it CAN'T be that bad nowadays, right? I am lvl 15 as Marauder and I like it so far. I really can't wait to get Dark Knight in Ishgard, I assume I have a long road until I hit HW.

As long as you enjoy it, go for it. When you stop enjoying it (maybe to your next Job), you can always consider boosting as long as you are ok with spending the money.

Thank you, Railgun, I appreciate it, for real.

I was just mostly curious what specific class to start with to be in limsa lominsa and if I throw that boost if it will be possible to get Dancer. Again, not really for me, but for my gf, but I am considering it, too. Like, I know Marauder starts in Limsa Lominsa, but Archer starts somewhere else, and in the job tab when opening the character, Dancer is in the Archer tree. Some people told me to get a boost level from either disciples of war or magic, I don't see how that is possible unless I misunderstood something or I am wrong. I know though, thanks to you and some others, that it is possible to get Dancer in Limsa Lominsa without needing to do all the content/dlc stories to reach ShB. I am just asking at this point which boost level pass for which specific class to get instead?

I'm not knowledgeable enough in all the different classes, their starting areas and where do they quest, but I can link you to this website, where you can see information about every class and where it starts (it says that Dancer starts in Limsa). https://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/Class

The entire website is a Bible when it comes to Final Fantasy XIV. You can use it for everything and it's easy to navigate from the panel on the left.

As long as you're sure to explain that it's a terrible idea, and that most people who play the game long enough highly discourage it.

It is, and you wanting to get to Endgame ASAP is an outlier and should not be counted.

You won't know how your class works. You'll be blind, and Hall of the Novice won't do much to help.

All we can do is explain the pros and cons and let the player decide. That way they can make an informed decision and not be surprised by things they could have known about beforehand.

At the end of the day it's their decision and the right choice for them might be to buy the appropriate skip. Even if those people would be a small minority of players.

I think my opinion doesn't matter (for FFXIV at least) but I believe it also has to do with how skilled/quick learner the player is. In the past, it only took me like one character in TERA to level up from scratch. I did some others but most of the classes - including a few new ones to the game back then - were instantly leveled up to 60 so I could skip grinding and story quests and go instantly to the end game part with classes that had no idea about, but somehow, after like a few hours, I managed, and I know TERA might be easy mode and more simple than FFXIV, but the concept is still the same from what I experienced, skills, rotations, dodging, holding aggro - if tank - etc.

I think what Railgun tries to give as an alternative suggestion is a good idea, at least for my girlfriend, for me, I guess as a first timer I will try to respect the game more and progress like a madman at the same time. lol I REALLY want to play Dark Knight and later on Gunbreaker. They look cool but I also found their mechanics interesting!

Then they better be ready to be lost as all heck, unsure of how their class works or anything when they dive in. They need to know they WILL be ridiculed and told to git gud and stuff like that.

Thank you for your concern, I can see your mindset is on a good place.

Ah, you're welcome. I just don't someone to be chased off of something they might enjoy because they didn't take their time to learn it.

The good news is, once you reach 50 you know roughly how a tank is going to work regardless, so GNB can be taken up at that point immediately. Unfortunately, DRK will require you to get through to HW expansion.

Some people might pick up a class quickly. I would say they are likely a vast minority of players.

Since it is a vast minority and I wouldn't take someone's word on it unless I knew them in real life and knew they were quick to pick up classes, I would never recommend anyone do a skip.

Especially for first character ever or first character after a long break from the game.

Since this thread is active still and I don't want to make new threads again asking over and over, can someone please tell me, when do we get our classes "artwork" outfits? I heard at lvl 50 we can unlock glamour. Do we have to pay money for that to use? Do we need to farm crystals? Or the method I've seen in the mirror is better/easier? - don't get me wrong here, but I prefer some starting equipment from Au Ra than this red thing he is wearing right now. lmao

Glam is level 15 now. And no, it's a quest in-game. You'll find it out in uh. Frick, it's between Horizon and Vesper Bay.
