Jobs don't get to use their PVE skillset in PVP but are instead given a special set of abilities that they can use. Ironically, these skills are more unique and fun than their PVE counterparts.
There's frontlines (battlegrounds), Crystalline Conflict (arena equivalent) and a dead mode.
You only need to be level 30 to be able to do PVP and you don't scale (because everyone has similar stats) but all EXP you gain during PVP will contribute towards your PVE level.
It's also very restrictive, you cannot queue with other people for daily frontline roulette or Crystalline Conflict. I have had more fun with PVP in this game than I had with PVE since the launch of Endwalker, but PVP really is just an afterthought here.
