How many people are actually using mods?
So many screenshots around here or on twitter are showing characters who've been altered so much and don't even look close to the original design of the game. There's even subreddits just for people who are modding - and there's not just a few people in there.

How many people are actually modding in this game? How BIG is the modding scene? Is everyone seeing their characters differently than I am with using no mods at all?

Understandable, When the devs can't make nice hair or armour designs, The players make it themself.

Ah yes 'make' good armor as in rip models from another game and charge people money for it. That's a hoot. :cuphead:

And that's why pirating mods is so big in FFXIV. Only fools pay modders. :D

I just use Reshade because of how washed out the game is--it gives me a headache.

with dawntrail you wouldn't need it anymore as they will apply it with colors and lighting and shadow much better with new expansion

We'll see.

I expect some better dynamic lighting, shadows and textures, but I don't really expect color vibrancy and contrast to be much improved. Besides, the few screenshots they've shown us over the last couple years are going to be cherry picked examples that make it look the best possible.

Not to say it won't be a huge improvement over all, but I doubt it will entirely remove the desire for Reshade, especially among GPosers.

I mean if its anything like modding stardew or skyrim, that would be obvious. It probably won't take long tho if they're dedicated to updating them.

It won't be any worse than it was for Endwalker.

It'll take a few weeks at least probably. Most of the modders and plugin devs flat out said they won't suffer hearing the complaints this time - that they are allowed to enjoy the expansion, too, without having to feel pressured for mods from the first day.

The problem will be the people who will whine if ACT and Cactbot aren't updated in time for for raiding. :P

Why would someone need ACT and Cactbot for extreme trials? :lunar2019deadpanpig:

From what I gathered, some people can't play well without Cactbot.
