FINAL FANTASY XIV Online

sell me on this game
So I'm generally not a FF fan. I don't really like the aesthetic. I like mmos with a more, let's say, "western" theme. Like LOTRO or ESO. But I'm bored and burned out on most other mmos. And I've never actually given this one a try. Is this game worth my time?

It depends what you like in a game. If you want a story rich game this is the game for you.

There is also endgame content that is difficult, requires a ton of progression to clear for most people, if you're into that. There is also a lot of casual content like a card game, mahjong, crafting/gathering, etc.

You should really just try the free trial, it will give you a better idea if the game is for you or not, it has unlimited playtime and is pretty generous on the amount of content, if you're burned out of any other mmos then I don't see why not give it a try.

Well, the FF aesthetic doesn't really change, and is maintained throughout the whole game. You don't really have a lot to lose by giving the free trial a go, but if it's really the aesthetic that's holding you back, then the game might not be for you. It's certainly not for everybody.

If you enjoy raiding then you will like this game. The end game content is pretty good imo. The game is also very casual friendly so if you don't want to put any effort into learning how to play, you can still have a good time.

The only one that can answer that question is you.
Trial is free so download it and see if you like it.

JRPG with an (almost objectively) slow beginning because of the original ffxiv not being that great..but gets better as you go along (tm), with dungeons you can do with other players, depending on the fc you join you can make friends that'd make the endgame worth playing.. if that's your thing. Later dungeons have a streamline problem with being designed for wall to wall pulls.

Also if you live in Europe you might enjoy it more since America seems to have a mentor problem and activist problem and also a weird fetish with shipping certain underage characters (even if they'd be a perfect fit when they get older).

Also don't get attached to any jobs since they get reworks... though I don't see how they can streamline it more.

Ignoring everything else, the job rework issue is incredibly specific. They barely changed jobs since 6.1 because they're too afraid to implement dragoon and astrologian rework before 7.0, and that's the only really confirmed reworks. Every job goes through some changes at 7.0 but this sort of change happens only once every 2.5 years since they do expansion cycles. Between then you have A LOT of time to play the same job as it is.

Free trial takes you to lvl 70 now. That's a lot of expansion content.

Sadly, I can't. Should've asked one or two expansions ago.

It doesn't sound like you'd like it, based on what you said.

I didn't think I would like it at first but then I got hooked. if you like wow, spore or any mmo you will probably like ff14 the community is also very nice they will help you with a lot of stuff that you don't know you should also try the free trial to see if you like it first before buying it if you want to make sure that you will like it
