Reactivating a service account
This system is such a pain.

SEAM system doesn't seem to believe that I've played FFXIV before. I can't find the existing account in the system to just...renew it.

It's also not letting me into half of the system since I can't re-use the code I used to create the service account to create a new one.

SE's FAQ says that 'cancelled accounts will appear on the next page' of the 'select service' option under options. This is a lie. It just wants me to make a new one. There's no second page.

The service history doesn't show anything about the service account for FFXIV anywhere.

I contacted their support (which was three separate websites with three separate logins) and I'm waiting for a reply.

Did I just waste money on an expansion because of Square Enix's inability to code a website or is there something I'm missing here?

If I cannot play Heavensward without spending an additional 75$ or so (subscription, new FFXIV code) will Steam be able to refund this, or was I just robbed?

It doesn't want you to make a new one. Figure out what your actual account is and log into MogStation. Renew your sub. That's it.

I think you mis-understand what a "cancelled account" is, from what you're describing you simply didn't pay your sub a while ago? an account is only cancelled when you actually choose to suspend the account.

All you need to do is:
If "manage service options" isn't shown then you're logging into the wrong account.

Also just FYI: it's currently just under $15 for the base game + 30 days of sub, though the main reason you'll want to find your old account is to keep your old characters/progress.

The first commentor had it right. I created a second account under the same email the first time I tried the game. Previously it had an ffXI service on it.

Them being slightly condescending (yet still helpful?) but mentioning 'your actual account' was what it took to make me remember and try to look for it. Squeenix help only responds to the currently active account and doesn't help you look for alts.

I got it all working. Case closed.
