There are quiet a few content there where it's worth watching the CS before the boss.
Look at Nier raids, quiet a long CS because it's not just the boss jumping into the arena.
Same for a quiet a few ARR dungeons..
What data center are you on? My friends and I are returning players that have a bit of game time under our belts and none of us would do that to you if you would like a comfortable space to learn and ask questions.
No you're literally the sort of person that they made the cutscenes mandatory for.
They weren't always mandatory; we used to be able to skip them. Unfortunately, people were terrible about sprouts being able to watch them, telling them to skip and watch in inn, etc--so they were made mandatory so that the sprouts would get the chance to watch without pressure.
Whether you choose to believe me or not makes no difference to me and it doesn't change the experiences I went through as a sprout so I fully understand how it feels for someone else who is learning.
Most memorable instance was playing summoner in an Alexander raid I had no clue what I was doing and played that job cause I liked being able to summon creatures (as I called them at the time) when we wiped everyone turned on me because I wasn't doing my "job" reviving people.
I can relate to OP because once again I know from first hand experience what this community is really like and it's why 90% of the time I don't engage with it.
Side note: I read your name as Galactic Orgy.
I havent been into making friends in this game, since i usually just play for story or content, minus the raids, but i've had few run ins, or the occasional town crier or town criers group openly in limsa or uladh sounding unapproachable in open say chat. I also have a tendency to take alot of screenshots while playing.
The hell did you think the res was FOR?
Also Alexander is an easy trial, takes about 5 minutes to get back to where you wiped.. and wiping to a trial repeatedly often means there's more than just a summoner at fault.
You have to remember when this actually happened I am extremely new and summoner just seemed like a fun class to play and as you put it have pets. That's literally the reason I wanted to try it I wasn't at a comfortable spot where I wanted to be tanking or healing. I lacked knowledge and knew it. DPS was the right option which summoner is. The problem was I didn't know at the time summoner was a mini pocket res when needed. It is very easy to tell someone in a nice way that you might need to use it if the healers aren't managing the role that is made for healing and revives.
The situation could've been handled much better but they all said it was my fault and only my fault that we wiped. It was the one with mainly adds and those little robots that you can use to move the bombs. Perhaps someone wasn't in the robots? Which put more pressure than necessary on the healers? Etc. It was a bad enough experience that I dropped summoner that day and picked a job with only DPS skills so I could learn.
When I eventually wanted to try healing I picked Sage and once again I took it from the bottom and learned. So many people forget what it was like being new and don't realise how clueless we can actually be. The problem is a lot of said people think we do it intentionally. We don't. As mentioned before it's a major lack of knowledge and being trash talked isn't going to improve anything.
One comment in particular does stand out. Hold W and press your buttons. This is one of those throwaway comments that serves nothing. Helping a new tank would be pointing out little things in their kit that can be easily missed like arms length. When it breaks enemies get a slow effect its not only for knock back immunity. Alternate cool downs for each group. Don't dump everything at once. Rampart - reprisal - shadow wall (30% mit) - arms length etc. Eventually it's like clockwork but it takes time to get there.
It's not toxic for people to wonder how you got to HEAVENSWARD, THE FIRST EXPANSION, AND BEAT IT without noticing you have a res.
It's true I made a mistake yes as expected of sprouts but for an entire group to single out 1 person as being the fault for a wipe when it's not so black and white is asinine. I became the soul target of why this group of 8 people wiped and it's uncalled for. This isn't ultimates or savage where 1 mistake / death can cause a wipe it's a level 60 alexander raid. This thread and many others like it encapsulates the problem that sprouts have to deal with.
I've had sprout healers constantly running out of MP and starting to panic 50+ 60+ all you have to do is just go "hey don't forget about your lucid dreaming, it'll help with your MP recovery" it happens. The fact threads like this still keep popping up shows nothing has changed. Some "Mentors" simply do not care. The crown is an ego trip. I have both the battle mentor and trade mentor crowns but never use them because it's a meme.
