I've been in the same FC (Guild) for almost 3 years now and i'm not active but they very much are, All of them are just as friendly as when i first joined and very welcoming. Sounds more like a Skill Issue if you can't find decent humans in FFXIV. I didn't even have to look i was minding my business and got invite spammed into joining, Best decision i made in my entire time of FFXIV was pressing yes.

You have to actually use your chat and join their discord if you want people to communicate with you OP.

Discord has replaced in-game friendship. The culture has shifted and it isn't ever going back. Games are designed for streamlined "content" consumption now, not the messy relationship and alliance building that old MMORPG's had.

I am old. I don't like Discord. I accept that I will spend the rest of my days in MMO's basically alone. It's not reasonable to expect everyone else to change though.

The community has so many different social circles that defining a community "average" (whatever the heck that means) is completely meaningless.

This isn't just a weird edgelord comment, it's also nonsensical.

My advice would be to find something you enjoy doing (different level/commitment for raid content, pvp, rp, etc) and meet people through those things. I talk to my static way more than my FC, but I know there are FCs that try to do more social things.

Nah most players are very weird irl. Keep your distance would be my advice. Run some raids or dungeons or whatever but don’t get too into it. You will thank me later.

Be aware that this community has a lot of gay and lesbian. Not saying this is good or bad because I’m not judging but just be aware. I’ve met some nice ones just to be fair but also some really weird ones.
