error code i2501 when trying to register a new account.
Just bought the game after years of hesitation. When registering a account and entering the code they send me to my email it gives me this error. What is causing this? Not a very good start to a game I was already on the fence about.

The more I read about this error the more I wish I never bought this. it's been a problem for years now I see and some sources saying I have to wait 24 hours to try again? Are you freaking kidding me?

Registration error codes
Error i2501: If you receive this error whilst registering your key or creating an account, it's likely that your key is for a different region than your account, the key is for a different region that you are currently physically located in or you've tried to create an account for a different region that you are currently physically located in.

This also means, if you have a VPN that is active it is advertising a different location in the registration process and may block you from creating an account.

Error i2501 This error means your account has been blocked from making transactions. This usually occurs when there has been failed payments or when the payment provider blocks your payment (for unknown reasons). The most direct way around this is to purchase a timecard from another vendor or to attempt to purchase Crysta with PayPal.

None of that applies to me. Don't use a VPN and I have not made any purchases beside buying the game so I don't understand using the "wrong payment info." Played the last FF online game awhile back and remember the PlayOnline launcher being a nightmare too. Good to see Square hasn't changed...

i bought the game around 30 hours ago, i waited 24 hours to retry still get that error

Oh this is wonderful man. Really love throwing money out the window on products I cannot even play. I knew I shouldn't have bought this. Shame on me I guess.

Just do what everyone else did... Use an effing Smartphone... (Mobile data, not your Wifi). that bypasses the 24h wait.

successfully created square enix account, but error i2501 appeared again when I tried to entry the product code. how can I fix this?

Did you enter the Key on your Smartghone? That usualy works.

i2501 is the fraud Protection, it stops others from stealing your Key. But for some reason it thinks something with your connection is fishy...

I tried. still the same thing happened. gonna try it again when the payment went through my credit card. the transition still on pending now.

I just tried this on my phone, but it still won't let me. :( It won't let me enter a confirmation code. It's definitely not because of my bank. My payment through a while ago.

I just got this error trying to sign up for the free trial. I got an error after putting in my registration code and there seems to be no way to send a new one. However i got an email saying everything went through but i get an error now everytime i log in and choose windows pc to get my trial going

I bought a copy of ff14 when it first came out and was ready to play it. I paid the larger release price only to find out, I couldn't register an account and when I contacted support, nothing!

YEARS later.... I finally decided to leave GW2 because not only is the game flawed, I found out the "Devs" and their family and friends were all running around in World vs World PvP blowing players away with their "God Mode" or Debug Mode characters. That was total disrespect for the people who give them money so I had enough.

There I was thinking I'm going to finally play Final Fantasy 14 for the first time because surely by now, registration is a breeze.

OMFG!!!! The game still has a broken registration system! After all these years!

Their support page assumes you already have an account and ask for info you can't give them so the support still does not exitst!

Square Soft was never that bad until in combined with Enix years ago and I knew then, things where going to hell for Square Soft.

As someone who is a final fantasy fan and has played the games.... This is a huge disapointment. 2022 is about to come in and I still can't play the game. I don't even think it's possible at this point so who are all the millions of people actually playing the game?

Must be some specific region of the world then because I sure as hell can not create an account. I'm really sick of all these bad companies creating bad quality mmorpgs but I can't judge FF14 on quality until I get a chance to actually play it but if the support and registration is a clue...

It's going to suck hard!
