yea, true. wait until you reach lv 40+ when your rotation changes, then lv 50 where it is again different, then at 60, same with 70 and at around 70 will you start to hate BLM and it gets worse with lv 80 and 90. (thats technicly with every ff14 class like this, the first 50lv is it relatively simple and theeeeen suddenly not longer so simple).

have fun~
monk is more confusing with its situational combos =D.
in short, BLM and monk are the hardest classes in FF14.
enjoy black mage aslong you are low level~

Yea, not sure how you BLM's deal with it.

Every other classes 1...... 2...... 1...... 2...... at low levels is thrilling.

What really compounds the problem with BLM is that it's even slower due to long cast times and its damage is absolutely abysmal at low levels.

Actually I feel like it's more of a caster issue, it feels like most casters early on have like, no meaningful spells. That said let me make this crystal clear for you. At level 18 Conjurer gets a spell called Stone Two, it has a cast time of 1.49 seconds and a potency of 190.

Until level 35 a thaurmaturges main damaging spells are Fire and Bliazzard both with the same stats of a 2.5 cast time and 180 potency.

THE HEALER DOES BETTER DPS THAN THE DPS MAGE! (I mean they will if they aren't healing that is.)

Don't get me wrong, if you're looking for any kind of balance the lower levels are a complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Thaurm's get an AoE attack relatively early at least, which pulls their DPS ahead of a lot of other classes in the only way that really matters at those levels.

But, every class is boring with no buttons, and awkwardly missing class defining abilities at different level ranges that cause awkward drops and spikes in power relative to other classes.

I do think the low levels should be reworked to not create such a bleh first impression of the game, but BLM's don't really have it that much worse than everyone else.

Thaurmaturges have astral fire tho, which will increase the fire spells damage depending on how many fireballs are floating around them. The damage increase is like 40%/60%/80%, from what I read.
Cast times don't rly matter when they don't even have that many damage ogcds at that lvl to weave. Also they have pretty much the same recast time, so they'll throw basically the same amount of gcd spells.

For this reason, I wish they had decided to set the cap permanently at 99 for Dt. That would allow them to take a more holistic approach to developing jobs, instead of just removing a few things and tacking 10 levels and a few new skills on the end every expac. The imbalance in level 70 ultimate is only going to get more and more ridiculous as time goes on.

i thiiiink a black mage which does at any level just 1.... 1.... 1.... 1.... will eventually run out of MP, gaining even no MP back at all and does no damage at all at that point xD.

As somebody who plays Dancer for carrying sprouts in ARR, and somebody who played BLM in Shadowbringers, I laugh at this.

Standard Step is available as early as Sastasha. Go ahead and look at that potency.

If memory serves 1 Is blizzard 1, Fire 1 is 2. therefore.....You never run out of MP, but thanks to Umbral Ice you do no damage.:spicymemecannon:
Acoustic Stoner Nov 8, 2023 @ 6:25am
low level blm is so slow at casting you can feel a speed up when you max out on spell speed materia
Dethlane Nov 9, 2023 @ 7:54am
All combat jobs have boring "rotation" at low level. THM feels even worse though thanks to hella long cast times.

At low levels (max 1 ice/fire stack) damage difference is negligible, so you might as well just spam ice to not worry about mana.

2.0 Arcanist would like a word with ya'll.
One single spell was used. Ruin. The rest was done by the pet about which you had no control over lmao

I played both, and I think Summoner is better.
