Can I apply Shadowbringers code purchased on steam to mog station for non-steam game?

For some reason I can't buy the game from square enix online store. It keeps telling me that something not right with my credit card even though everything is fine and it's the same credit card that I use for the subscription!

So anyway I want to try buying the game on steam instead, and then using the code to register it in the mog station online. Does anyone know if that will work?

Steam and retail(MogStation/boxed) are separate, incompatible platforms for FFXIV.

You can NOT use a Steam expansion with a retail game.

Oh man :( How can I buy it then?

If I try to use paypal it always just says "payment cancelled" right after it says "redirecting to paypal".

If all you need is a non-Steam Version of the game or DLC... Go to any store, that sells Video games and get a copy there?
Literally every place, that is not steam, sells the SE/Non-Steam version.

look, the Square Enix store is quite confusing, just keep it simple. Buy the full game on Steam, and pay for the monthly sub through Steam Payments, which is one of the payment options listed on the Mog Station.

I've been doing it this way and never faced any problems yet. But when I tried buying retail non-steam and using credit-cards and so on, I faced so many issues.

No, no it doesn't. I don't know when was the last time you tried buying a PC game in a store, but I decided to entertain you and called up my local EB Games, and they tell me they don't even have an SKU # for the PC version of Shadowbringers. Only PS4.

I wish that were an option :( But unfortunately I'd have to buy the base game again, and I'd have to start my character again.

Hoping for support to get back to me... even their support system was weird as hell to navigate...

Ok,Its not a Disc, just a piece of Paper in a plastic box. But still. all you need is the Key.

Did you try amazon? They should have it too.(Just checked it. Shadowbringers and for a few $ more, even the complete Version)

Ooh, interesting, but is that a legit store? I remember there was recently another store like that (I think it also had "green" in the name?) that sold keys which turned out to be blackmarket keys bought with stolen credit cards by hackers.

gmg is a Official Retailer

if you go on https://www.reddit.com/r/GameDeals/ at right side under FILTER DEALS all those store is legit store,if you look around you might find deal cheaper then gmg atm.
