Why can I just skip to the DLC I want to play?
Why does the game force me to play through hours and hours and hours and hundreds upon hundred of quests just reach the next DLC.

I have all the DLC but can't go to any of them without doing all these quests it's gotten to the point where I'm just skipping it all just to get to the next DLC. Actually I'm at the point where I just want to give up on this game as a whole because of this.

Players should have immediate access to content they purchase imo.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update - From base game to Shadowbringers is 484 Main Quests not including the follow up quests which you have to do which will add about another 100 quests to that if not more.

Now let say each quests takes 1 - 5 min to complete and that's being generous. Some quests will take 10-15 min or longer because the combat can be slow for kill quests at lower levels. But I'll be super fair and say a solid 5 min (it's much higher) per quest.

5 (min) x 584 (remember it's probably higher then 584 and quests will actually take more then 5 min) = how many hours you think for a new player.... to get the content new players are enjoying.
48.67 HOURS but it would actually be more like 10 min a quest or more which makes it 97.34 HOURS now imagine that when you've already finished the base game once before.

And there's people from the community saying I'm stupid and should shut up and there's nothing wrong with this system. Here's a link even the devs are recognizing this.

You do understand that mobile games only have larger populations because of their price and not because of their quality, right?

If im being honest, I have enjoyed SWTOR story quite alot. Ability to make decisions that impact outcomes, fully voice acted cutscenes, that game easily had the best "new comer experience" among all mmo's I have played and well, I have played all the major ones. ESO also has full voice acting but i didnt find the story as captivating as SWTOR.

And that game actually recovered quite well, It had a sustained active playerbase and stuff, even though a very sloppy launch. Unfortunately dev support wasnt as big as one FFXIV recieved and it is basically abandoned now.

And devs may have said "voice acting would result in delays" which i find a very lazy excuse tbh. Checking their patch schedule, they seem to introduce a major version every 3-4 months, that is far more than enough time to add voice acting.

SWTOR is a great game
Fun questing and great pvp.

Did you play it when it came out? It was slow, boring and had no endgame content. They blew everything on the voice acting and had nothing left for the game itself.

And TOR doesn't have full voice acting anymore, they use text dialogue for sidequests in the latest expansions.

It was great during Knights of the Fallen Empire, that game peaked and expansion was insanely good. But that was basically the "finale" of the game. Support is dropped and that game will die within few years. They didnt even have cinematic for their latest expansion.

You can always buy a story skip if you want to get into Shadow Bringers straight away. Don't be surprised if groups want to kick you if you don't know how to play your class right and basic mechanics.

OP acknowledge that this was an option but was very much against the fact you have to pay to do so.

That's another thing about the FFXIV community I remember my first dungeon run when I was playing on my friends account. Was dps and the healer and other dps called the tank an idiot and insulted him over and over cause he lost aggro a few times no one even died. He replied saying this is my first dungeon I'm sorry. I never forgot that cause I never seen or experienced that in any other MMO And I've seen it a bunch since. Or another time when there was a tank not using his defensive stance rather then them being like hey man use this it helps they insulted him till he left.

There are bad apples everywhere on the internet and on all MMO's you were just teamed up with a bad group.

I have been seeing a lot of people saying: "I have never experienced or seen this kind of behavior in other MMO's." seen it on WoW, SWTOR, Aura Kingdom, Digimon Online.

That is pure ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Using this excuse just because people here aren't agreeing with you isn't going to work because that small group of bad apples isn't the entire community.

Look it up your self steam charts has ESO at playing 29,803 peak 37,413 and with a 78% Gain
And FFXIV is playing 16,161 peak 21,884 with a 13.81% Gain

Outside of steam it's like a 2 million player difference between the two. Look it up yourself geez
Even BDO is has more people playing it than FFXIV

Dude all I play is MMO's and I don't see that ♥♥♥♥ in the other games I play. Most games I play people are super helpful and try to teach others.
FFXIV is full of elitists and grouchy douches.
Most of what I see is usually not directed at me but still FFXIV is by far the worst for this I see some people talking ♥♥♥♥ in a dungeons or being rude like every other day.

Go scroll thought discussions and see how many threads there are about toxicity in this game. LOL there's literally a thread right under mine about it.

Your own "evidence" even admits it doesn't know the numbers. It doesn't say how it got "3 million players" for ESO and "1 million players" for FF14 since it admits that there's no way to properly measure it. And it also cites FF14census, one of those most comically flawed ways to measure player activity.
