Praetorium unskippable again?

Greetings I stopped playing around September 2022, back then they implemented the update which allowed people to skip the cutscenes in here, what happened? Why did they revert the update? It was going so well, people even interacted with each other more.

I'm not sure where you got that information from. Prae cut-scenes were only shortened after the update but remained unskippable.

I don't think they've ever been unskippable. The exact opposite in fact. They made it mandatory so sprouts can see it undisturbed

They updated the cutscenes to be unskippable, they never reverted that update. When the game first came out, they were skippable, later they updated them so they were unskippable so newbies could actually watch them.
They did a big overhaul to the last three instances of 2.0 a few patches ago, turning the trial into a solo instance, reworking Castrum and Praetorium to be faster and the bosses more engaging, and splitting Ultima Weapon out into it's own trial. Also all of them were made 4-man rather than 8-man.
But they didn't make the cutscenes skippable again.

Thanks Veotax, it is a shame though, I farm end game stuff all the time when the event pops up to give MGP, so it is hard to have to sit through every cutscene all the time.

The non skip was added after many yelling from player base on SE when praet was 8 man run since many new ppl in past entered and went into cutscene that never ended and once it ended half of the players ben lost on where they supposed to go since most end game pros literally rush cheat spam the dun from start to end leaving every new player AGES behind.

So they make them non skip able how ever that did not help much as ppl still rush the place again leaving the new players to die to mobs noone bothered to fight.

And the last version we have now is shorter yes but still non skipable.
Some check on if the dun have only veterans inside to have skip would be nice tho.

imo it's helped tremendously. I was a sprout back in the early days when everyone would skip and it completely ruined the experience. I was very into the story and was excited to see the conclusion only to have that moment taken away from people who'd screech "just watch youtube" in chat.

People like to complain but it's what happens when people can't show restraint. We join roulette to help sprouts clear content. Not so we can get easy exp fast. People who don't like it can just not do it and ear exp other ways.

Or you could just dress up in silly outfits to make the cut-scenes more enjoyable while you're helping people experience the story.

Honestly the forced cutscenes did do a lot to turn praetorium into more of a social experience considering it occasionally leaves people chatty n stuff.
The revamp did cut down a bit on that though with the reduced cutscenes and smaller party.

It is sad, because of a few people everyone pays, I have farmed Fenrir, & currently farming Makai armor sets from Gold Saucer, but having to resee the cutscenes 24/7 is horrible.

To a certain degree I agree on this, the items I have obtained from the events featuring more than 5 mogtomes are either extremely rare among players, or add a certain unique feel to your character, yet I wish I could do Prae faster. 😂

Its nice that it puts in mechanics that are actually used in later parts of the game. Though in some cases (Like Mog trial) It made them less chaotic and therefor easier.

But actually practising in mechanics that will show up frequently is a good trade off, plus chopping it up so we don't have to fight Ultima as well.

Actually it's still possible to skip the cutscenes, but it only makes sense in a premade group. Simply quit the game and log in again and you will be spawned after the cutscene :)

(I wouldn't recommend this especially not in matched groups because some people might see it as cheating)
I believe it also doesn't work in the trial because iirc there's a barrier while the mid-battle cutscene is happening.

Doesn't matter if people see it as cheating or not doing that can get you actioned by a GM if you get reported.
