Steam Deck User With a Question
Is the game playable at endgame with a steam deck or would a computer work better? Also on the steam deck, how do type in chat? I am at a quest where I have to type "face /me" to some marauders but when I type it in, I am unable to enter it.

Press the Steam Button and X to bring up the on screen keyboard. Otherwise you can use a USB hub and connect a keyboard or connect a BT keyboard and type normally that way.

I never raided with the deck, but it should be playable for dungeons and raids. Don't expect too great a performance for 24 man raids however.

With everything turned down to the lowest it can be (except for party effects which I kept to "simple" or whatever the middle setting is) I get 30 fps in Limsa at peak times in 800p or 720p.

Can confirm, you should not touch alliance raids or frontlines. I tried an alliance raid on deck, I switched to my desktop after the first fight. I spent a chunk of the fight unable to even participate due to the boss taking so long to load.

Well, that I did not experience myself. I ordered a 64GB steam deck and gave it a 1tb drive, so I don't have that to be honest.

steam+x seems broken for me.. cannot enter my password to login atm.. ill hata move to desktop

Alternatively open the right side menu in Game Mode and click the keyboard icon there.
