Question about Dynamis Data Center market and retainers.

I've been thinking about moving to Dynamis and taking advantage of the easy housing. Most of the issues with moving to a dead server you can work around, but the only way it could really screw me is with my retainers and actually making gil.

Most of my gil comes from retainers and playing the market, but unfortunately if I move to a dead Dynamis server I can only sell on a dead Dynamis server. I'm guessing moving to a deadish new server would cripple my income. Is anyone who actually trades on Dynamis able to offer any insight?

Website that has marketboard listings, they are not 100% up to date, usually off by a few hours. You can use it to get the info about the markets state you need

With data center travel i always look at prices on every NA server. I did go to Dynamis a few times to buy stuff when it was cheaper there, so i don't think it's a problem.

I have 4 alts in Dynamis and 6 alts on Aether. That means 20 fully leveled retainers on Dynamis and 30 fully leveled retainers on Aether. I can tell you from my personal experience that my retainers on Aether make a lot more Gil than my Dynamis retainers. So your concern is a very legitimate concern. I do think once expansion drops the Dynamis DC will fill up, and at that point the gap will be smaller.

Kind of what I figured. I do have an alt on Aether so I could level up retainers on him and just mule the money to my main. And I agree Dynamis will fill up eventually; probably best to get a house now and just not worry about gil until later.

Yeah I'm always moving money between alts. You probably know this already but for the new players who were wondering, the easy way to move money between alts is once you get a house, purchase a mannequin. Put like a level 1 piece of gear on it for sale for whatever amount you need, like 1 million, 5 million, 20 million, 100 million, whatever. Now go on your other character and buy that item. This way you can transfer money among your alts without the help of anyone else, and you wouldn't have to pay the marketboard fee.

So dynamis is a great place to trade if you know the right items, theres a ton of market gaps and out of stock items.
