Server Population

I am a NA player, what server should i select that has the highest population? I want a more social experience.

Even on the highest population servers, there's not really a lot of random socializing. Some, especially on Balmung (the reason people are laughing is because it's known for ERP specifically, which yes, thirsty people are way more social), but there's no zone general chat in the game (or trade, or zone alerts, or anything like that).

There is no Barrens chat, or any experience *like* Barrens chat. The closest is the Novice Network, and you lose access to that (if you ever get it) when you stop being a sprout unless you become a mentor.

If you're after a social experience, I'd recommend focusing on finding a Free Company (FC) on /any/ server that you're compatible with. Most socializing is done within FCs, and you can find ones that are highly interactive on any server.

If you are a new player and want to find a populated server to play on, unfortunately the populated servers are locked. You can make a character on any DC/world and then travel to the populated servers to hang out with other players.

Gilgamesh, Leviathan, Balmung are the choices I would go with. If you want to focus on Raiding then Gilgamesh and Leviathan are the best choices. Balmung if you're wanting like a bigger RP community.

It's not that serious, and hasn't been since the Expansion came out.

Since when has there ever been a 20 minute wait? They are wanting new people to explore FFXIV...and that is normal. 20m wait... The return campaign? You won't get any more focused. So a 2 day thing, will be slow but returners logging in.... etc.

why do you spread so much missinformation?
first you say FF14 is refundable, which it is not and now you say there are 20 minute queues o_o?

do you still live in the past where endwalker got released?
20+ minutes queues do not exist anymore. and if you say stuff like "the servers are constantly full". no, they are not. just because you see a short waiting queue of 5~maybe 50 peoples which gets solved after 30 seconds does not mean the server is full. the server just handles login requests like that to maintain server stability.

not even balmung (one of the most popular server worlds) has what you say.
maybe we get this again when 7.0 launches when literarly everyone comes back to FF14 for the new content+ probably new peoples aswell but at the moment does on absolutely no server or world exist a login queue with 20+ minutes waiting time.
and for gods sake, dont reply again with "what do you want from me" ...

if you only look for population does it not matter since the server draws from its entire pool of worlds, you can like travel to the other worlds if you like.

tho that changes if you want to clear specific content, some worlds raid in high end content more then others and have more FC´s torwards that direction then others. same with hunt trains, deep dungeon etc.
if ya look for RP stuff is balmung your choice etc.

You are correct! It was prob a month ago when I last checked. I swear it was locked back then. My mistake here. I just checked and it is indeed open.
