Auto-approach to an enemy??

I just started playing FFXIV and whenever I right click on an enemy, I need to manually move my character on range so that she can start hitting it. I find this tedious and I'd like to simply click on an enemy and that my character automatically runs towards it to attack, not me using WASD. How do I do that?

You can't.
However if it offers any comfort, iirc if you use a mouse you can hold down both mouse buttons to walk forward.

There are /lockon and /automove commands and according actions you can bind and use in a macro or by yourself

There's some abilities melee have that let you close the distance, but those wont be available until later.

If they also lock on, they will stop when ngetting to the locked on entity...

Though, being locked on would present difficulties when dodging aoes....
Actually, if the player has trouble moving to the enemies in the first place they may have aoe troubles to start with.

Big thing about FFXIV is that it is a very coordinated movement game especially later on. Having something be an a auto approach is a very bad double edge sword in the game.

Hell even though I have it with a Auto Turn which makes your character face the enemy you attack. It helps center my camera on a curve strafe while doing certain MMO Mouse buttons, but at times the game has screwed me where I turn around and accidently fall off a arena. Or trying to dodge a Boss's attack but I trun around making me stop moving for half a second which kills me.

Having something force move you towards a boss is very dangerous in this game. So I wouldn't recommend.

You don't. It's not a point and click mmo or isometric game. You can bind certain commands to do it but no one should be recommending doing so because its a bad idea. FF14 is a coordinated movement game and requires you to be moving for mechanics.

Use WASD, or use a controller
