FINAL FANTASY XIV Online

FF14 VS GW2 VS BDO
What game has the most content out of it?
I tried ff14, and it is fun, but getting through the start of it has been a little rough if im being honest,
GW2 is fun so far but not sure what the endgame or content in general looks like, I like to farm mounts but it doesnt look like its in this game
BDO is alright, probably the least fav out of these two

Can't speak about other games. I have quickly gave up on BDO and never tried GW2.

In FF14 it depends what type of content we are talking about. Main Story Quests (which you have to do to reach endgame) Takes around 500h, depends on a person tbh. Most exhausting part for most players is getting through the first part (A Realm Reborn) but after that story get much better and I personally could not stop doing it.

You have many classes/jobs which you can level up anytime you want with 1 character, no need to create alts.

For some Endgame is doing Savage Raids. For others doing past relic quests (really grindy quest lines for now glamours/skins). I personally loved Hildibrand quests which is just a funny mini stories about inspector extraordinary XD.

Obviously collecting mounts and minions. There is a lot to do. But I would not count PVP as viable option, its there but its nothing amazing.

what's your favorite game outside of those 3, and what do you love about it? what do you enjoy about gaming?

tell us a little more about you and we can hopefully help you figure out what you would like best

Well im personally between FF14 and GW2 for now, I really love how GW2 feels, the combat and especially the mounts, but im worried its not grindy enough for me. FF14 endgame looks amazing and I love raids and dungeons, but getting past ARR has been a struggle for me personally

GW2 is pretty good. The story is lackluster and some of the content feels dated and abandoned, but the combat, movement, and gameplay feels very fluid, and it's one of those games you drop in and game 100% of the time. There's some unique things in GW2, like the mounts, and the way everything "fits well in the gameplay". It has a horizontal progression, so you gotta set your mindset to "what kind of adventure I'm gonna have today", bcz the game has little to no vertical progression to guide you through it.

Well, I wish you luck in figuring it out. If you want to offer more info so we can help you, please do! Based on what you're saying though... I mean, play both until you decide on one?

GW2 has mount farm but it's through achievements and gold (if you want to stay free to play). Endgame is a bit more casual but the engine and network systems are so much more snappy than 14, so the developers have exploited that and made some really hectic encounters.

FFXIV is more like an intricate dance. You need to learn choreography much more than in GW2.

BDO is lifeskill AFK sim and ascending gear that can break upon attempting. I am personally not a fan.

In GW2 you can always "work" torwards but not really farm something. Sure there are infusions or rare drops to get but there's rarely a specific way to get it.

GW2 endgame is being as fashion or as shiny as posible and the medium to reach this is doing all the content the game has to offer (horizontal progression)

FFXIV idk i'm still in shadowbringers but i guess the endgame is raiding or housing, the story is pretty good tho

BDO is a lifeless game, you will enjoy it if you like the combat or farming 24/7

GW2 at least has decent network code which results in a much smoother gameplay experience in both pve and pvp formats. FFXIV's network code has an awful tickrate and is garbage enough that parse monkeys have to install 3rd party tools to bypass a 700ms animation lock. You'd think a multi billion USD/yen corporation could afford to code a better engine in 2010+13. :lunar2019piginablanket:

FFXIV: Great game with an actual story that is quite engaging with plenty of memorable parts. Plenty of things to actually do in game with a leveling and gearing system that doesn't make you want to smash your skull against a spiked brick wall. Not to mention lots of dungeons and raids to do at endgame. Best of all? its actually an MMO where you are encouraged to party and you know...interact with people. Almost as if it were an MMO.

GW2: Don't play it so can't comment.

BDO: Story? wtf was the story again? idk, cant recall a dang thing about it thats how boring it was. All around...a very pretty game with no real substance and is probably the most anti-social MMO I have ever played...Haven't played any other MMO that so actively discourages playing with other people. Gearing your character is the most cancerous thing I have ever seen in an MMO. Would rather pull my fingernails off then deal with the enhancing system. As for gameplay, the start, middle, and end game is ALL "run circles in generic field x and kill y enemies until your brain melts out of your ears." replace x and y with whatever is in your gearscore range. Better hope you enjoy running in circles mindlessly grinding literal hours upon hours (WITH every buff you could come up with) for a measly 1% of your xp bar at endgame levels...oh and don't forget, hope you enjoy running to the next city to do a quest or while minding your own business outside a safezone and having some social reject insta-kill you for no reason other than "hurdur funny".

tl;dr: of the 3 games, only played 2 and between FFXIV and BDO, FFXIV is a vastly, VASTLY better experience with much more actual content to do and actually feels like a proper MMO.
