If you already have it installed, you can try going into steam settings and under storage, you can move games around between Drives.
Altho I can't recall what it does with a game like an MMO, so unsure if you would need to redownload it again.
Changing the installation path via Steam will not work, since you only download the FFXIV launcher from Steam, not the full game itself.
Someone asked the same question here.
Apparently this works:
Hope this helps.
it is true that steam only has control over the launcher but, you could kill the entire instalation and then create via steam settings a new instalation folder where you then can choose which folder gets used.
the disadventage here is that you need to download THE WHOLE thing again and that you need still enough space on your SSD or HDD for the temporarly stored files before it gets installed =x.
but assuming you have the space before it gets after the download finally moved to its destination folder, will the launcher putt it in the new installation path.
tho like others said here, moving it while it is installed is not possible since steam only has control over the launcher itself.
As mentioned above you can just reinstall the game in a different location on steam. You can probably move the files over manually too but I admit I have not tried doing that with an mmo.
Edit: actually one of the above posts mentions doing exactly that, simply moving the game folder to a different drive manually, hitting uninstall on steam, then hitting install and point it to the same folder you moved the game to manually.
I've done this before with lots of steam games before it offered native support for moving games, nice to know it works with mmos too.
This is a horrible advice. OP should check out the thread I linked in my post and see if any of the guides there works for them.
Reinstall, and when it asks you where you want to install the game at, choose the location you'd like to put it. It should give you a little dialogue box.
If it doesn't, right click on the game in your library, select 'manage', and find the option to choose your install location.
Honestly if you're having a huge problem with figuring this out, I would ask a local friendly teenager for help. They can often be bribed with food (pizza is particularly effective), and most of the gaming ones are going to be able to navigate this stuff on Steam no problem.
PLEASE don't buy anything again, that's not a solution, there's no need, Steam allows you to install things wherever you want.
Yeah I remember now.
Think when I moved the game from HDD to SSD. I used Steam to move the install location to the SSD and moved all the folders there too, but I think it still had to validate/update the files, so at that point you might as well just reinstall in a new location.
