It's like this every expansion. There is usually about 4-6 months with no significant content updates before the next expansion. It's not like this is unique to FFXIV. Hell, you wouldn't find an MMO that has a shorter turn-around time from last patch to expansion.
Reminds me of much of the Endwalker hate. I'm no fan of Endwalker as a whole either, but so many people have whined about lack of content and it's such made up bullcrap. It's one thing to not like the content that was made available, but some people straight up lie and say there was none to begin with. The only significant content that was lacking was the relic. We knew we weren't going to get more Eurekan or Bozjan style content. Truthfully I was hoping to see a return to the grind a la ARR or Heavenwards relics, but oh well.
Plus on top of patches between now and Dawntrail, we have several seasonal events, and they should make a big deal of this year's The Rising, as it's the 10th anniversary.
-Baldurs Gate 3
-Starfield
-Lords of the Fallen
-Armored Core VI
-Xdefiant
And some other games that i don't even remember now i have too big of a List XDDD
I played many MMOs this is normal inbetween expansions drough you get used to it :P
Don't limit yourself to 1-2 games or Style/type of games.
i didnt seen any other MMO either which does more content inbetween their expansions.
so, technicly is your so called "content drought" in every MMO like this inbetween expansions.
and to just say it, in every new .x patch got we atleast 1 new duty and 4 new raids and in addition to that new unreal versions of older raids and 1 week later opened savage for the new pandemonium raids. no other MMO can keep up with that. or, atleast i didnt seen any other MMO which added so much content dungeon and raidwise inbetween their expansions. and inbetween that tiny other things like updates for the island stuff etc.
Nobody is telling you to keep that house... And yes when housing is limited where less than 10% of game population has it... Its as simple as just unsub and wait for expansion.
