FINAL FANTASY XIV Online

How long would it take to butt rush through Hildi questline?
So I stopped playing at 6.1 and only returned to the game a few days ago. Realized that in order to start EW relic questline, you have to complete the ENTIRE Hildibrand storyline up to this point. And since I've never even touched it before, it's over 50 quests for me. I find it funny how they decided to give relevance to the questline some players never cared for by locking a relic weapon behind it. It's like "Hey you, you missed out on watching Game of Thrones? Well, go watch all eight seasons of it now and we'll gift you a free netflix sub!"

But anyway, I was wondering how quickly I can go through the entire questline if I'm skipping all the cutscenes? Absolutely not interested in the story, especially after they just force it upon you.

The same kind that makes them forget that "You won't need to run Bozja for the relic" and "You can't even unlock subsequent steps without running Bozja" are contradictory statements.

Both Hildi and relics are 'optional content'...

To answer as best I can.

I do recall there being a few trials.
Apart from those....
A lot of it is cutscenes and traveling, so I doubt it would take too long if you skip everything.

And the Trials can be oneshot with an unsynched lvl90. Maybe the Kugane one takes 2 hits.

That is actually not entirely true.
Kugane Ohashi's Trial requires as least 2 people to complete. I tried it on my 90 paladin a few times and it will just reset you after Phase 1 completes.

Why do you want to skip Hildibrand? Yes it's cringe at first, but later when you catch the vibe it's best content in the game. Sometimes it's so bad it's good. There is slapstick comedy, bizarre encounters and, oddly enough, some lore involved. And cutscens are a form of art.

Dont skip it ;_;

Imagine having to do optional content for an optional weapon? And then god forbid more optional stuff to increase the power of said optional weapon :O

from start to finish i'd say 6-8 hours

Umm, everything about the endgame is optional...

When did that become an argument in support of making endgame content obnoxious to access?

Because I want to get to the relic quest as fast as possible and don't want to watch senseless comedy anime that's needlessly dragged over all of the expansions.

"Needlessly"

It's there because so many people loved it. In fact it's not even in every expansion, there was no questline for Shadowbringers, but it was brought back in Endwalker by popular demand.

More like multiple days thx to the forced trials that barely ever finds a group...

Oh you're going to love this:

The second step of the relic is locked behind the new quests that were just released. Meaning even if you got through everything up to the 6.25 Hildibrand quests, you still have more to do for the relic!

True, but from personal experience on busy hours it never took me more than 20-30 minutes even as a DPS. That goes for pretty much every option content in this game that is not new. Hildi is quite popular, so a lot of people have those unlocked.

3-5 hours if you skip all cutscenes

If you read all the dialogue and watch cutscenes, 12-14 hours. I haven't even finished ARR Hildi's quests. Pain...
