Yet, as per usual.

Seriously. If people want to discuss Data Center issues, you really need to state your own.
Most of it probably has at least been on one or two of them.
Myself, in my 8.8 years of FFXIV service, have served on Primal, Crystal, and the curious server Hades on the Mana Japanese DC.
I'd also suggest using the Balance Discord to get an idea of your classes. The game doesn't have the best support in teaching such stuff but there are tons of resources supports and people in game to help. Leaf players are noticed as new but don't worry it allows you to make more mistakes and get more help and less flak so being new is not a negative thing you should feel afraid of. In terms though your first priority should be pick a class and stick with it and do it's class quests as well as the main scenario quests that kind of have a black flame symbol. Once your at endgame.
Now I don't advise it starting off but until your about 60-70 you can use duty support if you can't get ques so you can do it solo. There is benefit to this generally too. You get all the loot in the dungeon without needing to share it but you won't get the endgame currency when leveling. On the contrary yes a lot of new players are at the endgame but a lot of players tend to relax and hang out in the starting cities like Limsa and Gridania.
Also don't feel afraid to play tank classes they are literally the easiest classes in the game with dps being actually harder with more rotations and things to dodge. Just note if you tank in groups put on your tank stance and leave it on and don't turn it off. You should check your buffs in case it is off. Also use those defensive buff when necessary. People will like bigger pulls too but just get into the swing of it first if your starting off. The red/ green box next to enemies should always be red if your a tank on a lot of content so enemies focus you. Tanks tend to get away with murder so they aren't bad classes to start off as. You don't have to play tank but can be any of the classes it's just a suggestion to new players.
So, while some people get lucky and individual mileage may vary, the reality is that it's old/dead content. Locking things behind dead content is a really stupid, short sighted thing this game does that other MMO's don't.
Like WoW doesn't release endgame content, then pick some random dead raid from 5 years ago and decide you can't participate without clearing it. Sure, for the first few weeks that dead raid is active again, but then everyone who misses that window is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ on a significant portion of the endgame. It's the dumbest ♥♥♥♥ ever and I have no idea what the hell this games developers are thinking.
But when that happens that content then becomes quite active again. When Bozja was released you'd be getting close to a 50/50 chance of getting the Ivalice raids.
And it is only optional content locked behind optional content. Like if I wanted to do Icecrown in WoW I don't need to wait around for a full team, same with Ivalice raids.
WoW is filled with short sighted things so it isn't a great example (Being forced to farm rep to do certain campaign quests as one example).
WoW has a lot of grind. I know a lot of people aren't a fan of that, but that's not short sighted.
Short sighted is this...
Dev 1: "Hey, let's force people to run an old raid to access endgame content! It'll pad the new content a bit and spark some life into the old content!! It's a win/win!"
Dev 2:"But what happens later on when that old raid is dead again but there are still players who haven't unlocked the endgame stuff?"
Dev1: "I said win/win!! You know I can't think more than 3 weeks into the future; it makes my head hurt."
This actually sounds good to me. :)
Regardless of anecdotes it's old content, and old content will always eventually fall into disuse unless there's a good reason to run it. Since SE clearly isn't going to give anyone a good reason to run those old raids, it was stupid to lock Bozja behind them.
If content is going to be locked behind them then people need a reason to KEEP doing them, or else the content locked behind them becomes inaccessible to new players.
Anecdotes are only valid when you do it, got it.
Or perhaps you didn't notice you're also using anecdotal evidence?
I should probably stop trying to make points by using non-linear logic; I think it goes over peoples heads way too often here.
