Well yes, it has some potential for extra Gil. But there is an investment of time & effort. And the fact that it then takes your FC slot and possibly taking away a "real FC", unless the one you make would be planned to be more than just a shell for the FC workshop.
But yeah, if you want to make your own FC, you can also do it with just ONE other person, who has 2 alts, so you register it, have that 1 person accept the creation/invitation with their main character, then they can logout and login on alt 1 and accept creating the FC on that and then repeat that on their alt character 2. Now you have "four people" forming the FC and it's official and can start leveling the FC and have the befits of the Company chest and so on. Extra room for storage, always nice right?
And then you need to buy your FC a house, once gets that then can open the Workshop by paying for that also. So that route is taking Gil plenty in advance, with the house purchase and the opening of the Workshop.
And there is the continuous effort. Also, gotta keep in mind then also the thing that needs to keep logging in to the game even if taking a long break for whatever reason so house not get put back available to market. So it's a commitment and demands that 1 trustworthy other person at least, depends what rank/rights you give them of course. Hardly no one will just be your personal slaves tho for no benefit or their take off the gil you make.
So yes, it's possible to make some gil with that thing, but also it's a commitment and takes effort and other people (or at least one, as explained) meanwhile there are easy gil farming methods in the game that do not take such effort and commitment. And easy to take breaks and play other games without having to think that might lose your stuff unless login every now and then.
So up to your preferences if wanna do that. :)
*disclaimer: Yes, i own FC myself nowadays, and got my workshop. Still, when i wanna make gil it's fast and smooth from Eureka/Bozja farming. I know some like to play the market and it works in any game with similar economy. But that's not for me, i like to multitask so helping others on content i like meanwhile constantly getting stuff to sell for a nice price = best for me. :)
Thusly, few people ever actually manage to get to the point of consistently selling parts and houses. I wish you luck on that btw.
I am a fan of diversifying what you sell on the markey in case some items arent popular, but for FC Workshops, you are entirely recommended to have a guild backing you up on that.
I know I keep a rule myself to keep from violating someone elses bubbles on that. Basically, if Im providing the mats and theyre providing the rank, you should be free to make your own personal plans however often you like. No strings attached.
If you use the guild resources though, thats for the guild coffers only. And only if you feel motivated enough to do it, not as some reciporical matter for using it for say, personal projects. Tis a video game, you cant always rely on someones voluntary goodwill, so why get upset later on down the road when its not reciporicated?
Makes sense to me, thanks for all the input everyone!
