This way, while also holding down the right button i can start moving in any direction instantly. It took some getting used to, but i only ever log in to raid nowadays and for that purpose i find it superior since for me it makes dodging gaze mechanics a lot easier vs the default settings.
I reckon most people who raid stick to legacy, it's usually one of the first things people recommend to players looking to get into savage etc, to switch to legacy.
I only ever switch back to standard when i want to pose for a gpose, it's easier to do those really small movements like standing next to someone or something just right on standard.
Yeah, i think it's very much a personal preference, and often maybe the feel of movement being camera based or character based (to simplify) can already been coming from some previous game and people use what feels "familiar/natural" to them. Like setting same kind of keybinds on same keys so game is already sort of in the muscle memory after playing previous mmo. :)
And yes, there are benefits on the Standard and i know many damn good players who use it, so not saying it is worse. Just for me it felt a bit odd and i felt like someone had switched the places of my right and left hand, so had bad coordination and camera angle management on the baby Fates and stuff. :D
Most likely if had stuck with it, would be really hard to switch since things become preference after long enough. So yeah i understand fully. :)
And yeah, i use keyboard and mouse too. Alltho i think it would be damn chill probably to play with a controller and just chill on the couch. ^^
Edit: I took off strafe keybinds, never have needed them, did put something else on those well available buttons. :)
