one time password

how tf do i get it i cant log into anything unless i have it but i cant get the password cause every single way to log in needs it. anyone know how to get it?

one-time password is created by a phone app called 'authenticator' It links to your Square-Enix account and gives you a new 6 number password every 30 seconds. Typical 2 factor security like a lot of other sites.

the last time i played which was a while ago i must have used one time passwords. and i didnt know that there was an emergency one time code. so i lost it and cant cancel the one time code thing so i just cant get in anymore. so i cant log in without the one time code now.

Square enix has their own version. You can find it in the app store I believe, at least on apple (that I can confirm).

It's a completely optional secondary password and if you did not set up one you can just ignore filling it.

do you need to use both password and one time password ? i would like to use a stronger password on my accounts however i do not like the way you have to login everytime you boot up the game.

If you have secondary password you are required to fill in both. Password is w.e you set up while the secondary is randomly generated from your authentication. I'm not sure how the discussion section's policy regarding third party software but I've heard from my friends there are ways to save your passwords through them.

If you never added an authenticator to your account, leave the One Time Password field blank.

If you're still getting errors, then you're either getting your normal password wrong, or someone broke into your account and added an authenticator or something, I guess.

Just contact support of square enix .they will ask for proof of ownership . After verifying proof of ownership they will remove authenticator

for steam need you not a one time password anyways.
even if your account gets hacked is the hacker not able to log into your FF14 account ingame because he needs the steam token to verify the ownership of the FF14 account.

with other words, the hacker would need access to your steam account aswell to get full access to your account. even if he logs in into the mogstation can he not do much. because he would need to know your steam ID to ask the support to unlink the account which he can not find out via the mogstation.
