Congested server problem - wanted to introduce friend to ff14

so i didnt play ff14 anymore for like 2 years.. and i wanted to play it again, and at the same time i want to introduce a friend to the game.. but my server - shiva - is congested. so he cant create a character on it. how long will it take to not be congested anymore?

nope, not a single time did the congested status go away yet on my server. i think many people here are just confusing full servers during peak times with congested servers.. the people which say the devs need to remove it manually and until then u cant create a new char seem to be right. we checked the server status so often already now

Not sure if you read one of my previous comments but if your friend don't mind spending some money. Sometimes you can create a character on one server and paid transfer to a congested server later. This isn't always allowed but its been one way a lot of my friends got around server congestions.

It doesn't go away the moment enough people is not online as they do keep track of player over time which is why immediately trying to make character after maintenance it sometimes becomes uncongested for awhile. It does happen but on more congested server its less likely. I know its similar story with Tonberry and at one point I had a friend who had to camp the server status for almost a week to get in.

However that was back in ShB, and they upgraded the server since so my info could be out-dated.

Yea but he doesnt only want to do dungeons and stuff together xD he wants to quest together, he gets demotivated easily when he needs to play so many hours solo
so i want to play with him a bit to get him hooked, and then idk..maybe he buys a story skip or sth.. but who knows.. maybe i have fun replaying the whole story again.. its been almost 10 years

yea thats what we plan on doing now.. we will play on free trial accounts on another server, and if he likes it he will buy it and sub and eventually transfer to my server

all i know is that i wasnt able to do fates crossrealm wise. which is weird.
because the ultima thule boss is a fate but there was peoples from zodiark, raiden and shiva in the party.

so, iunno what exactly the criterias are where crossworld starts to restrict you.
iunno it has some strange rules sometimes '-'.
oh edit, i remember why, said friend was still on the other world and didnt came over yet, that was the issue ^^.

congested servers 100% rely on the current load of the server. If you watch the server listing they change entirely at random depending on current load and time of day. If you refresh the page every hour you will actively notice them change. Idk what else to tell you, try making a character late at night and there is a high chance that congested flag will not be there anymore.
