Power Level Tips?
So I'm going to be power leveling a friend soon to 50. This will be his first class, he likes to get to max level first in MMOs and then do story, since he enjoys playing story missions back to back without forgetting his progress and wants to catch up to us.

Anyway, it's going to be him, me and another friend. My other friend and I have ilvl 220s that will be helping him out. We're going to be mob tagging from 1 to 25.

From 25-30 we were thinking Costa Del Sol leves and then 30-35 doing Camp Tranquil.
Then probably doing dungeons/hunting log/challenge log until 40 and then having him start his MSQ and the XP from that will probably give him the final ten levels to get to 50.

Any other tips? Or different methods? Since there are two high level 60s helping him could we mob tag longer? Any help would be appreciated.

Leves, Fates, Daily Challenge Log, Daily Roulettes.
Eat Food for bonus EXP.
When doing Fates, possible during peak hours find a Fate Zerg Train.
Dungeon Spamming.
FC EXP Buffs.
Mostly like this.

It will be difficult using dungeons to level without going through the story as the majority of them are unlocked through the story.

Without doing Story there isn't much you can do. Basicaly fates and leves are the only thing you can do. Since even the optional dungeons are in need of main-story progression. Even so you don't get them straight through it.

My tip would be: He wants to do the story back to back? Then why not just doing it? Grind him to 15 by fates, after this he'll do the newbie dungeon to get Equip for his Class + the Newbie Ring that grants 3 to all base stats + +30% Exp until Level 30.

After you guys did that let him grind the story quest until he needs to go for sastasha. If one of you guys have mentorship you'll grant your friend a boost of +250% Bonus Exp. This way he'll get 2 Level Ups on Sastasha which will push him to 17. With that he'll be able to unlock the next dungeon by the mainstory. After that dungeon he'll be Level 19 which gives him the capability to go for the next Dungeon and after copperbell miney he'll be ~21 maybe 22. Then you'll send him to finish the sidequest for halatali. After Halatali he'll be 24 which again pushes him further into the Mainstory and opens up Toto-Rak for him. 2 Runs of that, 3 at max and he'll be 28 which again pushes him further. Now he'll be able to go for Haukke Manor which takes a total of 3-4 Runs and he'll be able to go for Brayflox Longstop.

Before you push him into Haukke he should take a break and level up his second class for his Job-Quest.

So until Level 30 the player can kinda swim through the Mainstory by just following it. Then again until Level 44~45 you should always get atleast one level per Dungeon. That means at most 4-5 Runs until you get further into the story quest. Since you're premate that should be something around 2-3 hours at max.

Sure he wants to go through the whole story without probs but it's neither 2.4, 2.5 nor 3.0 anymore where ARR Areas were flooded with people grinding fates. Without dungeons you are kinda ♥♥♥♥♥♥ now. Sure fates are "fast" but dungeons are the real deal nowadays.

I'm sorry but story gives the most EXP out of everything.

The extra XP they gave story missions when HW came out means you rarely ever actually need to stop doing story missions if you're just playing through them now.

My friend who got the game recently went from 1-50 SMN on the back of them while doing just his daily dungeon roulletes. I think the only meaningful break was the 48-50 gap.

You don't even need to power level on this game. Every friend of mine that tried the game would always be overlevel in relation to main content by only doing the main content. The last one I leveled was level 28 by the time he unlocked the level 24 dungeon and didn't even have his chocobo yet. But its as folk say, outside the main story line content what you can do to level up rq is fates, those don't require you to follow main questline.
One of the main selling point is the Story :steamfacepalm: Just rushing lving kills everything to even play....

Main story, job class quests, fates and dungeons. after max level you can use leves for your crafting and gathering classes and turn ins at a grand company. Pick up the challenge log after getting a Grand company so you can gain weekly exp and gil. Finally join a free company that supples experience perks. Rest in cities or housing areas when afk or offline to gain rest bonus to recieve extra exp. Secondary classes will gain an armory nous of exp once your first class in 50 and another armory bonus for exp at when your first class is level 60. Get a novice ring at level 15 by doing novice hall offered by The Smith in main cities. Also if you have yet to subscribe take a friendship recruit code cause it can give you a 20% exp bonus up to level 25 which makes things easier. Also put food on when the exp bonus drops from eatting food.
