Dungeon Queue times
I just recently started playing this game, and I do love it alot, but the queue times are killin' me man. I'm aware that probably like 99% of the players are at the last dungeons, or the highest level ones. But still, I was queueing for 2 hours yesterday, to get into the 2nd dungeon, was so painful, How is it in the higher levels? Does it take this long?

Low level dungeons are hard during non peak hours since not alot of people are doing their roulette.
Best way to get past this is join an active FC or friends. Even shouting in a main city will usually get you someone to help you. Most of the community in this game is nice enough to you help out, all you need to do is ask.
What Server/Data-Center are you on and which language settings are you using in DF? Also what class are you playing?

I'm on uhh, ♥♥♥♥ what's the name of this server odin I think, Language settings? you can set that up? and I play lancer

Makes sense, DPer ques are looooooong. Very long. Even the Expert que takes a good bit.
The best way to just ask a tank or healer, or go in with friends.

Tank and Healers have the fastest ques. Tanks usually are insta and always in need on the roulettes.

Majority of people who que are dps. Playing as a tank or healer will shorten those. Also always add japanese to your langaue settings. Hard to communicate but you dont need to chat while doing dungeons. 95% of content i ever do is with japanese.
I don't think there are many Japanese players on Chaos. Adding D and F to your language settings might help though.

Another problem probably is that most people are in school/at work right now.

Right after daily reset (3PM UTC) when people are doing their roulettes the queue times might improve.
Check your server name when you can, it can explain a lot with slow queue times. Odin is an EU server so if you aren't an EU resident, the peak times will be very bad for you.

What country do you live in?

But even with off peak times, I don't think queues should really get that bad.
This was an issue since i started about 2 months in! They don't link enough realms together!!!! I sat for 4 hours at the height of this games popularity at peak play times! It's one of the reasons i quit, but i'm looking to get back into it and play it on PC this time around.
1. Enable all languages in Duty Finder. You're probably cutting out 75% of your matchmaking right there.
2. Non-Peak hours are nothing to be laughed at, it sounds like you were playing during off hours. I noted you named your location and server, but haven't once said when during the day you were playing.
3. DPS queues are always slower than Tank or Healer, consider a change of class if you want to amp up time more.
4. A grand total of maybe 10% of the playerbase is "off doing endgame dungeons only", the game actively encourages you to do the lower stuff all the time. So no, that's not a reason.

About 3: It is the worst possible thing anybody can advice in such situation, there is no worse thing in MMO than to change your favorite class just because game doesn't let you progress.

Not really. If his problem is queue times, it's a solution. We don't actually know it's saiid person's favorite class either when this advice is generally given. It may be in this case. You're making a lot of presumptions to make that point.

1. all languages are enabled
2. I've been queueing at peak times aswell as off times, Has never been below 50 minutes of queue time so far
3. I'm playing the class that I really want to play, I don't want to be forced into switching simply because of queue times.
4. That's very good to hear actually. Wish the queue times were smaller for dps classes, but hey, nothing i can do about that. I love the game so far, so i'll keep on playing it, definitely. thanks for the tips/replies none the less :)

2. How are you certain they are peak times?
3. Understandable. I'm merely pointing out that as DPS, you should always expect a longer wait time, there are far more people playing those classes then the other way around. So you're competing in a much larger pool.
4. You're welcome. The best I can guess with that long a wait time is either your server in general is underpopulated or you happen to be playing on a server that doesn't regionally mesh with your time zone. Remember, while you are on a EU server, there are quite a few times zones that covers. Looking into it, Odin while a popular server is largely German and UK players. Is it possible that their usual peak times clash with Swedish times? (I'm asking genuinely.)
Duty Finder is across all servers in your data center (in your case Chaos).

I'm kind of curious as to what you think are Peak Hours.
Peak times are actually usually late afternoons to early evenings. Kids coming home from school, followed by 9-5 workers. Late evening is when most people would be going to bed. Weekends... eh, there are peak times even on weekends. Like late Sunday evening you're going to find far less people on then around 5 PM Saturday afternoon.
i would lvling a tank or healer as your next class, makes the queue's a lot shorter since they are in high demand, that why I made arcanist as my first class as at 30+ you get a healer (Scholar) and caster dps (Summoner).
You basically just answered your own question. You equip a weapon for another class, your class changes. After Level 10 on whatever class you start, you unlock the ability to go to other class guildhalls and unlock those classes. You're given a starter weapon and starter quests for the class and can go level it.

As you level them you unlock equipment presets so you can quickly switch between without having to change every piece of your equipment laboriously.

All base classes are called classes. When you hit level 30 in a class, as long as you have level 15 in the accompanying class (For example, Level 30 Gladiators with Level 15 in Conjurer on the side can unlock Paladin), you will unlock a quest to unlock that classes's Job. You pretty much NEED to get your job, as it greatly enhances your capabilities in combat.

Dragoon is available in ARR. It's just featured on the cover because one of the most important characters in Heavensward is a Dragoon. Unless you meant the Dragon race (Au'Ra), you need the expansion for that.

If you have the money now, no real reason to wait, Heavensward very rarely goes on sale. It might during the summer sale but there's no indicators as to when that's happening yet. (And I'm a Steamworks developer telling you that.)
